Anime RP I Adopted a Snow Leopard Hybrid....damn.... (RhysTheFirebird)

The sun felt warm and welcoming amidst the cool, winter air as Luka walked down the road to the local hybrid adoption center. He had been hearing tons of stories from his friends that it was completely different to adopt a hybrid instead of a full fledged animal and he could use some companionship in his life. Having just broken up with his boyfriend of three years, Luka needed a distraction to keep him from falling into a state of depression.

Walking through the corridors and looking over the many different hybrids that were available, Luka's attention was quickly caught by one in particular.

"Hello there, what's your name?" Luka says with a gentle smile.

Looks

Snow was quiet, curled in a little ball. He was chewing on his tail, grooming and a habit for comfort. The sound of footsteps and a voice had him glancing up. He blinks once, pale eyes staring at the human before him.

Luka smiles and tilts his head, crouching down in front of the chain link fence. "Your fur looks really soft, I bet you spend a lot of time grooming it."
Reaching through the small opening for feeding, Luka holds out his hand for the snow leopard to sniff him. "My name is Luka."

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

Snow lets out a low growl, staying still. He narrows his eyes on Luka, mistrust and wariness on his face before turning away.

A staff member walks over, "Ah, yes. You found out newest hybrid. He's a sweet boy, but doesn't trust us humans very well. He doesn't talk much." She looks at Luka, "An organization rescued him from hybrid trafficking about two years ago, and we just got him last week."

 

[Firestarter]

Luka looks up at the staff member for just a moment before looking at Snow again, frowning at the thought of such a sweet looking hybrid being put through something so terrible. "Poor guy. I can only imagine how badly they treated him."

He slowly pulls his hand out of the opening and stands up. "I'd like to adopt him. I want to give him a loving home."

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

"Are you sure? He doesn't like humans. At least here he's around his own kind and we can take care of him." She pauses, "Not saying you can't take care of him, just. . ."

Snow stares Luka down, growling.

 

[Firestarter]

Luka glances at Snow, feeling his heart ache with a need to show him that not all humans are bad. "I'm sure. He just needs to be shown that now all humans are bad. I can handle him."

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

She nods, "We'll get the papers, why don't you brouse around the store and buy a few things he'll need. We can give you a list of his favorite foods and such."

 

[Firestarter]

Luka nods and smiles. "Thank you, that would be great."

Roaming through the aisles, Luka picks out a few different chew toys, blankets, stuffed animals, and other various things to make his house a home for Snow. The last thing he grabs is a thin, leather collar before getting ready to sign the paperwork.

The lady hands Luka a few papers, explaining everything to him. She hands him a pen and someone leads a hesitant Snow over to Luka.

 

[Firestarter]

Luka smiles and slowly lowers himself to kneel on the floor. "Hey there, buddy."

Snow doesn't looks at him, his ears flat and tail hanging low.

 

[Firestarter]

Luka continues to smile and moves to sit criss-cross on the floor while holding out one hand. "It's okay. You're okay."

Snow looks at him, growling. He turns away, silent.

The woman clears her throat, "Me. Bates? Are you going to sign the papers?"

 

[Firestarter]

Luka sighs softly and slowly stands up, grabbing a pen and signing the papers. "Sorry, just wanted to make sure he knew that I wasn't going to do anything to him."

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

The woman shrugs, "You'll have plenty of that later." She smiles and then pulls out a divice and rings up all day stuffs, names a price

Snow is silent, the tip of his tail twitching irritably.

 

[Firestarter]

After paying for everything and grabbing the bags, Luka turns and smiles down at Snow. "It's time for you to see your new home, buddy."

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

He lets out another irritated growl, not moving.

 

[Firestarter]

Luka frowns and grabs out a small bag of treats, "Would you like a treat?"

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

Snow blinks and looks at him, narrowing his eyes.

 

[Firestarter]

Luka smiles and opens the bag, grabbing out a couple treats before holding them out to Snow. "Here you go."

Snow steps back, shaking his head.

 

[Firestarter]

Luka frowns and nods, "It's okay. I understand." Placing the treats back in the bag, Luka takes the leash from the other staff member and holds it loosely. "Can I take you home? I promise you will be safe there."

Snow scampers back, baring his teeth and growling. His tail thrashes wildly, pale eyes narrowed on Luka.

 

[Firestarter]

Luka frowns and slowly lowers himself down to his knees. "Please, buddy. I promise you will be okay. I just want to feed you and give you somewhere warm to sleep."

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

Snow huffs and prowls forward, silent.

 

[Firestarter]

Luka smiles and slowly leads them way, tossing the leash onto the table. "Good boy."

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

Snow is silent, crossing his arms as he follows.

 

[Firestarter]

Luka laughs softly and looks back every now and then to make sure Snow is okay. "Don't worry, it's not too far from here."

Snow doesn't respond, looking bored for the most part.
