Well,
This is a post I’d never thought I’d make.
It’s been 10 years, 10 long years since my creative block started. I never truly got out of it though, even if I applied myself in other ways — where I started, versus where I am now…
Back in my younger years on other versions of RPM, Knight and I would often have bets on who would have the most posts and constantly fight for the top.
That seems so long ago now.
I can attest that my writing has improved — I think. I’ve adapted a new style thanks to Solaris, I truly appreciate their layout of their posts. It reminds me of ‘fancy posts’ ones would create all the time for their threads. I often envied that I didn’t know any code, but now I do after managing the site for 4 years, it’s been one hell of a learning curve.
That being said, technically the digital ink still hasn’t dried on many of my rps — even if I take a step away for days to months at a time. Believe me, I’m always in the background, late at night rereading my favorite threads that I’ve had over and over again to the point of being able to bring back a bit of muse for a reply.
But I will admit I do miss posting every day, absolutely engrossed in a thread, in an idea purely off the top of my head. But lately life has sucked all joy out of anything fun and I’ve been escaping reality with c-dramas. Idk they just kinda feel like…an rp plot that I would’ve had? Perhaps that’s why I enjoy them so much.
I don’t think it’s lack of muse anymore, I think it’s lack of effort, desire and lack of wanting to make new rps, wanting my other rps to thrive first, but even I have been the culprit of leaving threads dry and I sincerely apologize for that.
So, after a long winded explanation —
At this time, I will not be taking anymore rp partners, nor will I be making anymore threads.
But this doesn’t mean that to my current rp partners / threads that I won’t continue the story! I just, won’t be making anymore new threads of my own. And for any branched off AU threads that were previously discussed between any rp partner and I, those will still continue as planned whenever we decide to do so.
I had one thread draft in the works but already I’ve lost interest in it and I doubt if it sees the light of day it’ll go anywhere. (Before anyone asks, yes, it is based on a C-Drama called the Double) Just a little taste of it— it was going to be Chinese Palace era related with vampires. Yes, I realize I have an obsession but eh vampire threads are the easiest topic for me to create and easiest to rp imo.
Anyways,
I should probably go to bed— thanks for reading if you’ve gotten this far.
And don’t worry, I’m doing okay— I’ve been in contact with a few from here and I wanted to say that I truly appreciate those I have been messaging every now and then. Even if it means just sharing Leon Kennedy related memes, I’m truly happy that I can share a laugh and just talk about random stuff.
