Lena had only known cages, loud spaces and multitudes of people staring at her, that was the thing about being born a slave. Everything was dictated for you, how to dress and when to speak. There was no free will for a human born to a cage and Lena had learnt that at a young age when her mother's owner had sold her to slave auctioneers at five years old. Most humans had stopped being the ones who ran the world, sure there was still some who lived in high society but others, like Lena, were forced into servitude. The creatures that primarily ran the world no were things of myth and legends. Vampires, werewolves, Fae and dragons were some of the main ones who took the reins when they started coming out of the shadows.

These creatures had seen the dawning of a new age where humans were more willing to accept them and in doing so, the humans that did not have money or wealth were captured and sold bringing to life a whole trade of humans. Lena had seen men, women and children come and go from the slave markets, some creatures would look at her and continue on their way. She had been on display for twenty years now, she had been bought once before by a vampire who just wanted more slaves for his home. Lena had been with the man from her fifteenth birthday until her twentieth before he sold her back to the markets where she had now been once again for the last five years.

Used slaves sold for a lower price and slaves that showed wear and tear sold for even less. So Lena knew where she stood on the sales ladder in the grand scheme of things, her body was covered in scars from old bites, her wrists had faint scars from being shackled and her left ankle looked as if some animal had attacked it. But it had been her, when she had first been sent to the markets at five years old Lena had clawed and dug into her skin trying to get the shackle off of her ankle trying desperately to break the metal with her small hands.

But the worst of her scars were on her back, her old owner had whipped her often, but that was because Lena had taken the blame for the children slaves if they ever messed up. She protected them and made sure they were safe, she hoped they were all still alive and well but Lena logically knew the score with her old owner and his coven. Food was food and if a slave wasn't doing their jobs they became food. Sitting on the floor of her cage Lena leaned her head against the bars as she looked up at the creatures passing her by, some shot her looks of pity, others looks of disgust seeing that she was dressed in a dirty white dress that had seen better days.

Sighing softly she moved a little in the cage tucking her legs more comfortably under herself as she continued to watch them going about their lives, but something was niggling at the back of her mind and Lena adjusted herself so that she could look around better. Seeing a man staring intently at her Lena frowned a little at him, the man was handsome and she had no doubt that he was a creature, with his good looks she couldn't help but think he was a dragon. There was something about dragons that made them seem more regal than vampires and more sophisticated than the Fae. Watching as he began to walk over to her cage Lena moved onto her knees and held onto the bars as she looked up at the man as he came to stop in front of her, "Like what you see?" Lena questioned softly once he was in front of her. Normally she wasn't one to talk to those who came to look at her but Lena was bored, it had been weeks since someone had stopped to actually look at her.

As she looked over the man Lena took note of him holding a key in his left hand and piece of paper that she knew was proof of ownership, so this man had bought her and once again she would be going to have to wait on someone hand and foot.
