First and foremost: Thank you for taking the time to read this thread. It's a little lengthy, so please bear with me.
I'm searching for active partners who enjoy the written word- not necessarily in post length, but in the details provided. The Devil is always in the details, and I love a well thought out scene detailed through prose. Not just the setting, but character details, character motivations, inner monologues about how the character is feeling. Give me all of it.
That being said, I am neither a night owl nor an early bird, but some form of perpetually exhausted pigeon that has no self control but to scroll through and read while I go about my night. I'm a night shifter in the MST time zone, and as a result, my responses may come at odd hours of the night or in the early morning.
About me-
Hello, I'm Solaris or Sol (read like: Soul) if you prefer. I'm 31 years old as of writing this introduction and have about 15-16 years of writing experience under my belt. You may describe my posting style as advanced lit to novella length, but please don't let that frighten you. Though I am a wordy bitch, I can easily match my partners posting as long as you give me enough to really sink my teeth into. I love a juicy post, so equally as wordy bitches are most welcome here.
Third person POV is easiest for me to write as I find writing "I did this..." or "I do that..." for my characters is too personal. It makes me feel as though I'm inserting myself into a story and that's not what I personally write to achieve at the end of a day. We're here to write as our characters and have a good time.
The absolute minimum response I'm willing to write is 10-14 sentences. I can, will, and do often write more and would prefer very strongly if we not delve into one liners or single paragraphs as I often find myself growing bored of such. There's nothing to respond to from that- no details worth grabbing onto in writing just a sentence for a reply. I'm not hating on people that can do that or do that regularly, but that's not me. Please, please, please do not dm me expecting me to be interested in writing with you if you can only sit down between doomscroll sessions to give me one line of text when I've written paragraphs and paragraphs for your viewing pleasure. (I'm not a mean person and I won't bite your head off, but I do have preferences.)
As a cautionary forewarning to all my future RP friends, I am red/green colorblind. I ask you gently now to refrain from using such colors if you color your character's text in post with me as I will be unable to read it. I don't mind seeing these colors in photos as it's mostly a text based thing that makes me unable to really differentiate them when I see them on a screen. It's very miserable to look at; please I beg do not.
About the Roleplays-
Fantasy is my favorite setting for an RP. Be that true fantasy or urban, modern fantasy. As long as the RP has SOME fantastical elements involved I will be happy. I also enjoy dystopia, cyberpunk, historical, and some slice of life settings as well. Though slice of life is certainly my least favorite of the lot, it can be interesting if done well. There doesn't need to be drama and action all of the time, but we need something to drive the plot forward or it will get stale for both of us and I would like us both to be entertained!
I have some plots which I will list below, but if you don't like any of my plot hooks, then please be prepared with something of your own. Too many times I've been approached by someone who says they like nothing I have to offer and then leave me to scrounge up whatever loose change plots I have ping-ponging around my skull with no input from them on what they really like to let me know what I should be putting forward. Do not expect me to do all the work for you because that's the fastest way to lose my attention. Be prepared; be active because it's not just my story, it's one we're working on together at the end of the day.
We love romance in this house. Adore it, even. I love the so-slow-it-hurts slowburn romance the most. The kind that makes you want to violently shake both of your characters and shove them in the same room and yell at them to just make out already because they're both thinking it. I don't need this to be happy, but this type of fluffy shit is what I live for to read. I can just as easily do a less slowburn romance as long as our characters aren't falling in love the second they meet on the street. I really hate meet-cutes and find the setups to be really stilted and awkward. My character isn't going to fall in love immediately with yours, so please don't expect it.
Along the same vein, I WILL NOT do plots that involve cheating, cuckolding, NTR, or non-consent between the two player characters. These make me violently uncomfortable and I wish people will stop asking for them. If you like those things, then great. There are plenty of people who can enjoy writing these things, but it won't be me.
Because I find often that this needs iterated twice, I am not here to tickle your rape fantasies. Writing non-consent is a huge deal breaker for me, and if this is what you're seeking, please look elsewhere. Express consent from both sides is sexy as fuck.
I prefer art/illustrations/digital art for the pictures of the threads that I do. Realistic face claims turn me off because I find it extremely weird to use someone else's face in an RP especially if the person is easily recognizable.
All of my characters are switches, and will be happy to do both or either roles. (Please no ABO or Omegaverse plotlines. I understand this is a M/M search, but I have a strong dislike of ABO dynamics.)
Some of the plots I would like to do in no particular order-
I would prefer Muse B.
Muse A has always loved nature. Even though they live in an urban area, they find the time to walk to the local park every day and spend a few quiet moments enjoying the greenery and animals around them. They always relax on the same wooden bench and lately have been noticing the animals seem to have grown accustomed to their presence. In particular one beautiful, curious cat. It keeps its distance, but always appears so intelligent and sharp, watching intently with its piercing eyes.
One day Muse A brings a small bag of scraps as an offering to their new furred friend. The cat mews happily and devours the food offered to it. The following day Muse A returns with a snack and the cat is there, this time with a shiny twist of metal in its mouth. When the treats are scattered along the ground, the cat drops the paperclip - a gift - at Muse A's feet.
This ritual exchange carries on until one day, the cat doesn't show. Muse A is heartbroken, missing the therapeutic one-sided talks and charming company of their wild friend. Muse B appears, seemingly out of nowhere and sits down on the wooden bench beside a visibly distraught Muse A. Wordlessly, Muse B hands Muse A a small metal trinket, a perfect addition to Muse A's collection. Is the gesture enough to reveal the truth about Muse B? The shapeshifter had been their cat companion the entire time.

I could play either role in this one.
Character A is the son of a high ranking mafia member. He has worked for his father for many years. After several one night stands with Character B, the two discover that they want to be more than a casual fling. Character B disappears for some time only to reappear at the request of Character A to talk about their "relationship" covered in bruises and scars. He seems reluctant to talk about them, but reveals to Character A that their father is the police chief, and when he discovered that his son was sleeping with a man, and the offspring of a known mafia member at that, he beat some information out of him.

Muse A is a young prince. Raised to be the next in line for the kingship. Trained with the best tutors and mentors that the nation's wealth could provide to him. Spoiled, arrogant, haughty, aloof, could be a few words to describe the prince. Their kingdom is the largest on the continent, and has been constantly at war with demons. They believe to save the human people, their best option is for a political marriage of their son to a princess from another wealthy kingdom.
Muse B, a handsome knight- best friend of the prince, and soon to be personal guard of the prince, hides a disastrous secret from those who he holds close to him. He is a half-demon without horns.Loyal and Dutiful to a fault to the loyal family, his reputation is that of a guard dog to anyone that threatens them.
What happens when romance flares between a spoiled prince and his protective guard dog in the midst of this all?

Muse A is the heir to a huge fortune and no stranger to the public eye. To avoid getting taken advantage of, they try to avoid relationships. Rather than having a string of one night stands, whenever they feel the need, they hire Muse B, a male prostitute who's almost their exact opposite. Once the two are spotted together, the tabloids start speculating about their relationship. Though Muse A has never actually considered starting something real with Muse B, he seems smitten, and finds a way to pop into Muse A's life even when he's not on the clock. Texts turn into sexts and once feelings start getting into the mix, Muse A needs to decide whether they want to risk getting played by putting their heart on the line.
I would prefer to play A.
Muse A and Muse B are orphans who meet by chance on the street. With no one else to look after them, they spend several days fending for one another and gradually becoming friends because of their similar circumstances. When Muse A doesn't turn up at their usual meeting point one night, Muse B is forced to assume the worst and move on. Years later, the unlikely duo meets again; Muse A has become a beautiful entertainer at a high class brothel in the red light district. while Muse B has become a fierce samurai. The two instantly remember the connection they once shared and begin to fall in love. Muse B becomes a patron of Muse A, and after several sex-filled nights together, they decide to cut their losses and run away together. Unfortunately, Muse A captures the attention of an abusive Shogun who will do anything he can to keep Muse A to himself.

In a world in which people are born with soul-mates, distinguished by identical marks on their forearms, Muse A was born with no such mark and therefore destined to be alone. Ashamed of bringing an outcast into the world, Muse A's parents abandoned them when they were just a few weeks old. A compassionate couple brought Muse A into their home and nurtured the unfortunate child as if Muse A was their own flesh and blood (though there was no official adoption).
Muse B was the only child born to the couple before they took Muse A in. Muse A and Muse B were instantly inseparable, even as infants one would cry if the other wasn't beside them. As a child, Muse B happily shared all they possessed with Muse A and was always there to comfort Muse A whenever they were sad about not having a destined love. They lived like siblings, but even more like best friends, in the same home until Muse A turned 18. Though Muse A grew to love their foster family, they felt that it was time to move on and see the world, even if there was no one waiting out there for them. Though Muse B has met their soul-mate by this time, they are adamant about taking this journey with Muse A, who they haven't been without for so much as one day of their young life. They set off to explore the world with Muse B's parents' blessing with the condition that Muse B will return home in 3 weeks time to marry their rightful soul-mate, whether or not Muse A returns home with them.

I would prefer Muse A in this one.
Muse A lives in an abusive environment. For years, Muse A has kept what goes on behind closed doors a secret, for fear of what their abuser might do if anyone found out. One night, the chaos and the fear become too much to bear alone any more. When there's an opportunity, Muse A escapes with no plan of returning. Muse A runs straight to Muse B (their best friend or former flame) and confesses everything that's been taking place, begging to stay with them until they can figure out what to do next. Muse B promises to keep Muse A safe no matter what, and that they'll figure out what to do in the morning. Relieved and grateful for Muse B's comforting, Muse A spontaneously kisses Muse B. Though surprised, Muse B doesn't pull away.

I would prefer to be the Sun.
The Sun and the Moon were raised together, never far from one another. While everyone favored the Sun for their warmth and beauty, others looked upon the Moon in distaste for their cold, aloof nature. Still the Sun loved their counterpart. They were two sides to the same coin, and they always went out of their way to include the Moon where others would not.
The Moon, growing jealous of their counter has found a way to slay gods. During a celebration they were meant to attend together, they wonder what would happen if they killed the Sun to take their place.

I prefer to be the deity.
A paladin (or cleric if you'd prefer) has had their faith tested again and again. They think they've been forsaken by their patron god and that their adoration and faith were for naught. Finding themselves walking through an unfamiliar maze of trees and foliage, voices start clouding their judgement. One rings out louder than the rest- leading them to a clearing where a slumped over figure laid amongst the flowers and tall grass.
The face was recognizable anywhere. Their god! Cold and seemingly lifeless, the figure came to. The god offered a smile, their dim radiance was nearly enough to blind their champion even despite only being at a fraction of the power they had been used to wielding. Strange scar like patterns littered the deity's body underneath their robes.
Their champion begs to know what they've done wrong to deserve being forsaken, and the deity reveals that they've committed a crime against the other gods, and that they will grant them all the power they desire if he helps them maintain their god-hood once again.
