Forgive the bad pun in the title. I'm still new to posting on forums but I am always willing to give something fresh a try!

About Me (as a RP Partner): I am a modestly active RP partner (2-5 replies a week unless we get on a roll on a Sunday or similar when lots of replies may occur in a back and forth). I work full time and genuinely believe real life is the priority. I am happy to chat ooc but also happy to keep the focus on the writing itself if that is your preference.

Writing Style:
I typically write in the third person. Length tends to be medium. I subscribe to the - tell me what your character is doing, thinking, and feeling - reply style so that gives my partner sufficient meat to formulate a response. But this will vary. If there is a lot of action going on (ie a fight or something), replies may be tighter to avoid drifting into godmodding. I like a good 5-10 sentences when possible but if using gifs to add some expression etc to the reply, then closer to the five sentence mark.

Writing Location: These days, I usually write on Discord but I could also do a tumblr sideblog or such other location that we agree upon.

My Characters: I typically write male Original Characters, since I am not particularly current on fandoms. The only fandom I have actually written in is Vikings. With a well-established partner, I am happy to try a female character. I like using actors rather than art for visualizing the character's appearance with some degree of flexibility (ie, you might describe your character as looking like a plus sized Margot Robbie and I'd be down with it). I tend to favour less common male faceclaims but I am willing to discuss with my roleplay partners to ensure we are both comfortable.

Writing:
I like a bigger plot idea that we get to work within, whether that's a historical setting, fantasy setting or science-fiction settling. I don't tend to enjoy as much slice of life, modern universes unless we give it a twist. Happy to discuss with my partner what kind of twist will add that little extra spice. I can write very dark / taboo subjects and even if that is not your preference or the style of writing we are doing, I do not tolerate any form of writer/writing shaming. I love writing a horrible villain who does truly terrible things, but I, personally, still feel guilty about a squirrel I ran over 10 years ago (aka writer does not equal muse).

Plotting: I love love love working with my roleplay partners to help create our writing universe. What are our characters' roles in this world? Are they ordinary people or does the world turn on their decisions? Are they supernatural? ABO? Magical? Soulmate threads? I love arranged marriages or situations where two characters are thrown together so that even if they start out snapping and snarling at each other, they are obliged to keep talking, spending time together, or even sleeping next to each other so that they must keep going and find a way forward. I love coming up with basic plots with my rp partner and then watching them spin out into an entire universe that I think about during quiet moments.

Partner I am seeking:
Someone who likes a plotty thread, someone who enjoys writing and wants to give me an insightful reply (ie - i can see their character's thoughts, feelings, and actions) so that I can craft a good reply. Someone who communicates if it just isn't working for them so we can either change it up or start something new. If you want something terrible to happen to your muse, I might have a great villain for you. But I can also do something with a sweet love story and enjoy every reply.

RP Partner Thoughts: I don't care as to your gender and age so long as you are not a minor but I am older than google so please be okay with that. One of my rp friends/writing partners loves to tease me about my aged self. All in love and fun but I want people to be aware and stay within their own preferences. Your comfort is far more important than a single writing partner. If you are on the older side and wants to reminisce about the days of yore before getting into the thread, I am down with it.

Icks - I don't super love cheating plots unless it really works for the thread or develops over time in some way. My villains don't rely on basic prejudices to be awful people. (I think it is more fun to play a villain without such an easy crutch if you know what I mean).

Triggers - animal abuse (esp if explicitly written out), scat, vore, gore and cannibalism (explicitly written out but can be obliquely referenced esp if a post-apocalyptic world).

I am not easily triggered but believe firmly in respecting my writing partner's boundaries. This is supposed to be fun and if it isn't then let me know and we can change it!!

Plot Ideas

Holiday Threads.
I actually think holiday threads give lots of room for characters to explore things, have in depth conversations and dip into your own character’s background. How do they feel about their families? Any traditions? Any wonderful memories? Any dark ones? Are they recovering from being dumped last holiday season? Have they been lying to their families about how successful they’ve been or about their relationship status? Is it a new couple’s first holiday together? So many options are available for fun threads to explore.

Holiday Thread Options Include:
  • Sweet. Muse A is bringing home Muse B to meet their family for the first time. Turns out they have never brought anyone home before.
  • Salty. Muse A is just trying to get home but the roads are terrible. They end up in a ditch, spun out, and when they wake up, their car is half buried. They manage to get out and see a cabin in the distance. They get there, half frozen, but find only one occupant - Muse B. Who is initially not amused at this gate-crasher to their holidays.
  • Spicy. Muse A is desperate to bring someone home for the holidays and ends up inviting a random Muse B to pretend to be their boyfriend (how this comes about we can decide on). Turns out Muse B is a bit of an asshole (perhaps more than a bit). Perfectly lovely with the family present but not above taking liberties with this whole situation, especially when to the surprise of Muse A, their parents are totally cool with Muse A and Muse B sharing a room / guesthouse. We can decide how much spice is added to this mix.
The Inheritance Plot ~ Some varied spin-offs for this one but a favourite twist is that in order for Muse A to get their inheritance, they have to be married or engaged or some other hideous caveat. Muse B agrees to help out for some reason (monetary kickback, their own needs, immigration reasons, a place to live etc). So now these two have to figure out how to be fake married / live together while dealing with nosy relatives and a scheming relative or relatives who would love nothing more than to get Muse A disqualified.

Historical Thread - The Rough-Hewn Prince ~ Muse A is a glorious princess or prince if we want to make this more of a historical AU. Muse B is a Prince and Heir of a small country but Princes from this country are little different from the common man. In order to take a place in the international stage so to speak, he needs to learn fancier manners, how to read, etc. So his parents organize him a place at the Court of another country and a beautiful young bride/groom - Muse A. After some challenges between them in which he is clearly struggling to learn (or more the patience with learning), they cut a deal. Muse B will follow all of Muse A’s lessons in exchange for doing whatever he likes to them at night. This is initially mortifying to Muse A as he is very improper and Muse A is not at all sure he should be doing that but a deal is a deal.

Kinky AU - The Scholarship Program: The College was renowned to have some of the best programs in the world, the most educated and capable professors and even the school and residence buildings were stunning. It was an exclusive institution that came with a hefty price tag. There were three kinds of students there. The Athletes - of all genders and the very top of their proverbial game. A full ride was offered and they were regarded on par with the students paying full freight. They were treated as such by faculty and their classmates alike. The Students - those whose families were so well off that they could afford full freight and had the academic credentials to get in. You needed both - the brains and the cash - because there were no free rides at this institution. The last were the Scholarship Students. All volunteers. They had to enter into a commitment to study here. A commitment of service. They would be paired with one of their fellow students (2nd year and higher) and they would be required to live in service of that student. It didn’t seem that bad at first blush until you were made aware of the depth of the commitment - they got everything - the right to decide what you wore, if anything, where you went, what you did and your body? Oh that was all theirs too. To do with as they pleased. There were only a few limitations - the Scholarship students needed time to study, could study what it pleased them to study (ie their master couldn’t change their courses) and there could be no permanent scarring, marks or pregnancy during the ownership period. Good luck to the incoming cohort! It’s bound to be a fulfilling year. I would be interested in playing either an Athlete or Student or, if an age gap is more your interest, a professor.

The Last Spot / The End of the World (aka the Bunker)

Basic idea is that the world has been rocked by conflict. Months and months of skirmishes and bloody battles have left the world in ruins. Muse A has received notice that a mad man in power, on the brink of defeat, has finally unleashed the nuclear option. The end of the world is about to rain down. There is a bunker. Muse A knows of it. But it is for the elite and the powerful. Muse A is neither but still they go to the location and there is a crowd of people, each pleading for respite and sanctuary. Muse A watches as small children are pulled from screaming parents and led inside, the parents left outside, weeping in terror and grief and some modicum of relief that their child just might survive. Muse A’s eyes clash with a man behind the barbed wire fence - Muse B. Guards haul Muse A through the entrance and Muse A is tossed to the ground as the bunker doors bolt closed. Turns out space is limited and Muse B has claimed Muse A. What happens now?
