Demi smiles at Ryder before order her food. AS the waiter walks away, She places her hands in her lap and sighs softly. "Thank you for bringing me here, Ryder. You're really sweet."
Demi's cheeks turn and soft shade of pink as she giggles softly. "I like seeing you smile, too." Running her fingers through her hair, Demi takes a deep breath to gather her nerves. "I'm...really glad you asked me out, Ryder. I've been really nervous about talking to you at school."
Demi wrinkles her nose and smiles. "What do you mean a guy like you? You're funny, kind, smart, good looking." Her hand quickly slaps over her own mouth as she finishes her sentence, having not meant to say the last part out loud.
Demi lets out a soft, nervous laugh before lightly clearing her throat. "W-well...um... I mean..." She blushes brightly, not knowing how to save herself.
Derek sighs heavily and shakes his head. "I'm sorry, Kas, but the answer is no. I already told you that I didn't like that boy's parents after everything that happened last time."
Derek clenches one fist and steps even closer. "Kas, I'm not asking, I'm telling you as your father. Go to your room. You're not going to throw a tantrum and get your way like a baby."
Losing his patients, Derek gas Kas's arm and starts dragging him to his room. "That's enough. I'm tired of you thinking you can just throw a fit to get your way."
"No, damnit, I'm tired of this shit!" Opening Kas' room, Derek lightly pushes the other inside. "You've been getting away with this attitude for too long. For the next month, your grounded. No electronics, no going out with friends."
"Enough! I don't even know why you asked to go to that boys house in the first place. I have told you time and time again that I don't want you hanging out with him if it's not in school." Derek huffs, crossing his arms over his chest.
Derek's muscles flex as his anger rises. "I don't care, Kas! You're only eleven years old. If your friend really needs help, then he needs to go to proper people to get said help."
"I'm not saying you can't be his friend! I'm saying you're not going over to his house with those deadbeat parents of his!" Derek bellows, taking a step closer to Kas.
Derek takes a deep breath, trying to do as Kalin says. "Like I said... you're grounded for a month." Turning away, Derek walks out of Kas' room and heads to the kitchen.
