General RP Damnit, There's Kids Now! (Firestarter)

Trenton blinks and couple time before nodding his head towards the back. "Maybe when we are out of view of Mr. Gatemen....he'll have my head for it if he finds out."

"Why?!" He grumbles, "I'm a perfectly fine driver."

He crosses his arms, sulking. "He's something else."

Trenton nods his head to the side, not having the balls to speak badly of Derek. "I understand, but Mr. Gatemen wants things....a certain way. Let me just drive a few blocks away and then we will switch."

Kalin keeps sulking, "Why did I marry him again?" He mutters, tone joking as he circles around and climbs into the passenger seat.

Trenton fights with all his might to not say a sparky remark as he slowly pulls away from the building.

Kalin looks over at him, "You know you can be open with me, right? I've known you for four years and know nothing about you except your names Trenton and you're terrified to piss Derek off x

Trenton and remains silent for a moment, trying to gage out if Kalin is being truthful. "Well...Mr. Gatemen is...different. I've never seen someone like him before."

Kalin looks over at him, "Tell me what you think of my husband. You've known him longer than I have."

Trenton takes a deep breath and continues to stare at the road as he drives. "Mr. Gatemen is one of the most powerful, intelligent, and honestly, quite terrifying men I've ever met. When he hired me, I was nothing but a bigger on the streets at 17. He cares deeply for those he loves and considers close." Pulling off into a random parking lot, Trenton parks the car and turns to face Kalin. "You especially, sir. He has never loved someone the way he loves you. After you two began your relationship, he spent many nights trying to figure out ways to make you happy since he'd only ever been with women before."

Kalin hums softly, "I won't let him fire you because you did something asked, you know." He leans forward, closer to the other.

"Because I would hate nothing more than someone stopping me from doing what I want." He pauses, "That sound s like a threat."

He laughs, "It's not, I swear. I'm just trying to say he won't fire you for doing something that makes me happy, no matter how much it frustrates him. Okay?"

Trenton looks down and nods, still being a little nervous. "Yes sir..."

Kalin leans over, poking his shoulder, "It's Kalin. Sir makes me feel old." He smiles warmly at Trenton before hopping from the car.

Trenton blows out a breath and slowly climbs out of the car, walking around to the front passenger seat.

Kalin wiggles into the seat, situating himself. After a moment, he glances at Trenton, "It's okay." He drives the rest of the way to his mom's house, getting the kiddos and then let's Trenton drive them home.

Later that day, Derek comes in from the garage with a huff and loosens his tie while Trenton follows behind with a defeated look on his face.. "Kalin? Where are you?"

Giving Trenton a quick glance that said to stay put, Derek walks into the livingroom and lets out a heavy breath. "You want to tell me what you did today?"

Derek crosses his arms and taps his foot, looking down at Kalin.

"Did you drive today?" Derek say before glancing in Trenton's direction.

Derek sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose. "You know how I feel about that. I have drivers for a reason, babe. They have taken specialized driving courses to teach them how to evade dangerous situations better than anyone else."

Derek rolls his eyes and step closer, "I understand that, but I don't want anything happening to you." He glances at Trenton with an angry look on his face before looking at Kalin again. "Trenton also told me you were going to try and hide it from me."

"Huh? When did I say that? I never said that. I just want gonna tell you unless you brought it up. You're overreacting." He sighs heavily. "That- I don't mean it like that. . ."

He flops down. "I didn't want to just tell you because I knew you'd be upset. But I wanted to drive! It's relaxing for me."

Derek sighs and glances at Trenton, nodding his head to the side to send Trenton off before closing his eyes and leaning his head back. "I understand that, but don't you think it would be smart for me to know. I get that you didn't want me to get upset but...I'm hurt at the fact that you would do something that could get you hurt without telling me."

Turning around, Derek walks to the bedroom to get changed out of his work clothes, slowly unbuttoning the cuffs of his sleeves.

Kalin follows, "Babe, people drive all the time! And I've been doing it since I was fifteen. It's not that big a deal!" He plops into the bed, "I'm sorry, okay? I just. . ." He tips his head back, sighing.

"I just wanted to relax. Do something for myself "

Derek remains silent as he gets undressed, placing his clothes in the hamper while slipping on a pair of thin basket ball shorts and a sleeveless muscle shirt. Turning to face Kalin, Derek sighs and places his hands on his hips. "Like I said, I understand that, but I still would've liked to be told that way I could help if something went wrong."

Turning away, Derek walks back out to the kitchen to start cooking dinner.
