Cali had been around for three hundred years, she had seen so many different eras come and go. Hell, she had fallen in and out of love many times but there was one who always seemed to fall back into her life without question, and that person was the vampire who had sired her on her twenty-first birthday. Honestly the day she had been sired hadn't been a remarkable occasion, at the time she had been working as a harlot, it wasn't good work or pay and more often than not it posed more of a risk to her life. Cali had been working down near the river Thames in London late at night when she had been beaten within an inch of her life by the man who had paid for her company, she had come to terms with dying because of her job but those thoughts left her when a very handsome man had come into her line of sight.
Because of the state she was in Cali thought the man above her was an angel and she had begged him to take forgive her of her sins and take her to heaven, unbeknownst to her at the time, he wasn't an angel but a vampire. He turned her becoming her sire, over the years Cali learnt everything she could from him and the two would travel from place to place. Fights were a common occurrence between the two, a differing of opinions, but even when they parted ways they would always find their way back to each other and their make up sex was always worth it.
After one of their last fights almost twenty years ago Cali had moved to New York, there she was at the height of society, she went to every single party possible and any high society event that went on Cali was there with bells on. The humans and other creatures she mingled with were often taken-a-back by her as Cali used her beauty and her vampire powers to her advantage, if she wanted something bad enough she wasn't against using compulsion on others to get it. Hell, her powers also made it so that she was a force to be reckoned with when it came to the business world. She ran her own high end escort service that was big enough, and had an amazing reputation, that she had several people wanting to buy it from her. Cali had noticed that one of the people who seemed interested in buying her business had the same name as her sire and that sent her on the hunt to see if it was him, and it had been.
That was how she now found herself at one of these latest parties, she had charmed her way into an invitation as a plus one to a boring human man who she didn't care about. Cali didn't know what the event was for, she didn't care, she was there for one reason and one reason only. She wore a floor length off the shoulder dress in the shade baby pink, Cali walked lazily around the stately function room of the expensive hotel this gathering was taking part in. Normally she didn't bother with compelling humans to take her to grand parties as a guest as Cali was normally on all of the lists but this one, this one she needed a way in. The party was being held by the man who sired her and she highly doubted she would be on his list of people to allow into the party, the last time the two of them had been in a room together they had had such an explosive fight that they had almost completely demolished the hotel room they had been staying in.
Looking around the room at the different people Cali grabbed a glass of wine from a passing tray, raising it up she sniffed it and smirked a little catching the undertones of synthetic blood in it. Sipping it she raised a brow as she spotted the man she had been looking for, lowering her glass she walked towards him glad that his back was to her as he seemed invested in talking with someone in front of him.
Reaching out she placed her free his on his mid back and slowly slid her hand up to rest on his shoulder in an almost loving gesture as she tilted her head slightly as she looked up at him with a playful smirk, "I thought you said you hated New York" she purred teasingly her British accent had never left nor dulled over the years. Even when she had been human Cali had had what people considered more of a posh accent, it was soft around the edges and people loved hearing it.
