General AU One Month of Wild Pride (Damnit, He's Hot) (Firestarter)

Kalin smiles brightly, "So, today we're going to a gay bar. Zayn didn't say anything beyond that."
 
Derek nods and takes deep breath, "Okay, sounds good. I'm pretty sure its going to be packed there."
 
"Maybe. Oh, and we're riding in his van. Carpooling for the poor." Kalin snickers and takes Derek's hand, "We can meet him outside the gate? Or do you want to let him in?"
 
"We can let him in if you guys wanted to pre game it here first." Derek smiles
 
Kalin shakes his head, "Naw, he's driver, he doesn't drink. I'm driver tomorrow night." He stretches, "And no, we are not taking your chauffeur. Poor guy needs a break."
 
Derek smiles and nods, "Alright, lets go meet him at the gate."
 
Derek smiles and leads the way to the gate, enjoying the small walk with Kalin on his arm. "So how long have you known Zayn?"
 
"Uh, since forever. He's my ride or die. Besides you, of course. He was there for me when I came out, and. . . Well, through a lot."
 
Derek smiles and pulls Kalin closer, "That's good baby. I'm glad you have a friend like that."
 
"Then there's Calli and Suri, a lesbian couple then Cookie, Zayn's girlfriend." He looks up at Derek.
 
Derek tilts his head, slightly confused. "I didn't know straight couples went to gay bars."
 
"Well, Zayn's bi, and Cookie's trans." Kalin presses his hand to his mouth, "Our resident straight couple, Yen and Gabe are on vacation right now."
 
"Oooooh okay." Derek thinks for a moment, "Is there...any specific pronouns that Cookie prefers?"
 
Kalin shrugs, "Whatever, as long as you're not rude, but you could go with she/her. She's not the type to scream bloody murder at you if you mess up."
 
Derek blows out a sigh of relief, "Good. The last thing I want to do is offend someone."
 
Kalin smiles, leaning into him, "They're chill, I promise."

A mini van, covered in paint, pulls up outside the gate and a girl jumps out, bouncing, "Kalin!!"
 
Derek smiles and lets go of Kalin so he can run to his friends while standing back to be polite.
 
Kalin grumbles, taking Derek's hand and pulling him along, "Calli!" He smiles, "Hey, oh, you got your hair done, I love it."

Calli nods, "I thought the pastel highlights would be great, though someone doesn't like them."

"You're killing your hair, of course I don't like it " a taller woman steps out, almost as tall as Derek as she smiles at him, "Hey, I'm Suri."
 
Derek smiles, surprised by the woman's height, and nods, "Hello there, I'm Derek."
 
Suri smiles and looks at Calli, "I keep telling you--"

"But it looks so beautiful, looks at Kalin! He does his nails almost every week! That's bad for his nails, and does Derek stop him?"

Kalin laughs, "He wouldn't dare try!"
 
Derek chuckles and holds his hands up, "I wouldn't be the one to know what is good or bad for a persons hair or nails. I mean, Kalin just got onto me about how I wash my hair."
 
Kalin snickers, "He loves me too much."

Suri shrugs, "Well, I'm not Kalin's girlfriend, I'm yours, Calli. And I don't want you killing your hair."
 
Derek smiles and looks at Calli's hair, "It does look very nice though. I could always ask my sister for some good recommendations on hair care products that don't break the bank."
 
Suri huffs, "Getting her hair done breaks the bank."

Calli scowls, "Not now, Suri."

Kalin clears his throat, "Where's Cookie?"

"Talking to Zayn."
 
"There are some ways that she can color her hair for cheaper and with less damaging products. My sister used to use Kool aid when were little."
 
"It washes out, do you know how expensive that would be to buy Kool aid every week for her to dye her hair?"

Kalin sighs, "Guys, stop. We're here to have fun, not talk about money."
 
Derek nods and pets Kalin's hair, "Alright baby, I'm sorry."
