Not all demons were bad, some went out of their way to be good and try to fit into human life. Leah knew this first hand as her father was a demon, this allowed her to be able to tell when someone was a demon. Sometimes it was hard for her to pick out demons from a crowd but she could do it, it was something she had always been able to do because of her being half demon. Leah made sure that no one in her life knew what she was, as far as most people around her were concerned she was just a normal human who worked for the hunters association. It was her job to make sure that the demons in the city weren't a threat to humans and if they were, Leah hunted them down and killed them. Most of the demons locally knew who she was because they had had run ins with her but the majority of the demons around tried their best to blend in with humans and some even started families like her father.
Leah wasn't a fan of being half demon, unlike her brother, she had inherited her fathers temper and saw herself as dangerous when it came down to losing control of herself. She had struggled growing up knowing something was different about her, she had ended up almost letting her demon side completely control her when she ended up on the radar of the hunters association. They offered her a chance to not die and that was working for them to keep full demons inline, to keep them from hurting humans, and in return they taught her to keep her demon side under control.
But lately Leah had been on edge for a reason that had nothing to do with her struggles being half demon, it all had to do with a new demon who had come to the city, she had no clue who this demon really was. Yes, she had found him and had been following him around from a distance but for the most part he didn't seem at all like someone she needed to worry about. But Leah needed more time to figure out if she needed to tell the association about him, so she had spent a few weeks keeping tabs on him, but all he seemed to do was go from his house to working in a law firm. To keep a closer eye on him Leah had managed to score herself an interview for a personal assistant position, she almost jumped for joy when she found out that the position would be working for the demon she was keeping tabs on. When it came time for the interview Leah had been a little annoyed that she was being interviewed by someone else in the firm but she didn't care too much, she had gotten the job and that was all the mattered.
That had been a few days ago and Leah was amazed at how much this man, demon, seemed to spend at work. It was almost as if he lived there. She was more used to not working a normal job so the first two days Leah felt as if she had jet lag from having to get up early but now she was getting in the rhythm, getting into the office a little earlier than she normally did Leah headed for her bosses office as she knew he was having a meeting with a client for a couple of hours.
Closing the office door behind herself Leah walked over to this desk and sat down on the leather chair, "You honestly cannot tell me this...demon moved to the city just to work in a law firm" Leah muttered to herself as she began to look through some of the papers and files on the desk. Finding nothing interesting she turned her attention to the computer, "Come on, give me something to work with here" she grumbled as she started opening a few files here and there. But all she found were documents related to clients she knew he was working with, sighing Leah went to open his emails but stopped when she heard footsteps stop outside of the office door. Swearing to herself softly Leah looked around the room, sure she could make a dash for the bathroom attached to the office but she knew the high heels she was wearing would give her away. Rolling her eyes she slid off of the office chair and moved herself under the desk glad that it went completely to the floor so that whoever opened the door wouldn't see her, getting herself tucked in as much as she could into the furthest corner Leah mimed hitting her head on the desk as the door opened.
Listening to the footsteps she raised a brow slightly when the footsteps stopped at the side of the desk, Leah had no doubt that her boss was the one who had come into the office and she had no doubt that he would realize someone had been snooping around. As she sat huddled quietly under the desk Leah couldn't help but be annoyed with herself about her situation, she had laughed at movies where women hid under desks and got trapped by men, but never in her twenty-three years of living did she ever think she would end up in such a stupid situation herself whilst working as a personal assistant of all things. Leah also was mentally scolding herself, out of all days to wear a tight fitting skirt and high heels, today had to be the day she wanted to look cute.
The idiocy of her situation wasn't lost on her at all, "Go away so I can get out from under here" Leah said lowly under her breath before she placed her right hand over her mouth a little as she saw him move around his desk so she could see his legs making her beg mentally for him not to sit down, as she had no doubt that if he did he would very much notice she was there if he stretched out his legs.
