Game RP The Fallen's Roses (RedCoat)

Lazuli tilted her head and gave Marron a soft smile, nodding to her words "That sounds great Marron" She agreed, before remembering the pouch of coins she'd looted from the sailor, opening it and counting them out, humming to herself as she did so, finishing the count at a value of 150. Not exactly a fortune, but certainly nothing to be sniffed at "I guess whoever sent them for the treasure paid well..." She murmured.

(Sidenote, we really need to think of an actual name for the Currency...)

(XD it's just Coin in the game. But we can name it if we need it)

Marron pulled out a small box, pushing it open with her thumb, inside were her reserves of ammo. Only 10 rounds, but when you had only two shots...it stretched. "We'll handle it tomorrow." She said as she reloaded her gun and slid it under her pillow. "...maybe we can use what we get to for something....nicer."

(Just cause it's like if different ones have different values, like 1, 5, 10 ETC it might make that awkward XD)

Lazuli watched as Marron reloaded her spent round and then slid the gun under her pillow, before smiling softly as she nodded again "Yeah. Maybe..." She murmured, even as she knew Marron was no doubt planning to save the coin to go towards restoring their family names. But for now, the younger sister just lay her head onto her pillow, her knife strapped to her thigh as she closed her eyes "Goodnight, Marron..."

(XD hm I shall think on it- or run it through ChatGPT if I'm looking to do it faster-)

Marron slipped off her leathers, laying down on the bed slowly, staring at the ceiling as she always did. "Goodnight Lazuli." She said as she waited...almost always she couldn't rest. It would take a while.

(I mean... I was gonna just name them Finns or something, after the first Emperor of the Isles XD)

Lazuli lay in her bed, her eyes closed as she began to drift off. And once Marron also had fallen into slumber, the pair would find themselves dreaming of a strange realm, thousands of distant things floating in a black abyss, and a figure infront of them, their feet off the ground as they turned "Marron Moray. Lazuli Moray. It has been many long years since I have had the company of your family..." They began, one eye black as the abyss, the other a cold blue as Lazuli grabbed at Marrons hand "Perhaps you know of whom I talk. Perhaps you do not. It matters not anymore. Far more interesting is the statue you both found. A Totem to me, carved in much the same style as the bone charms and runes..."

The figure tilted their head, gesturing around themselves before speaking again "Is it not obvious? I'm the one the Abbey warns you away from. The one who watches, from beyond." They laughed softly, shaking their head as Lazuli peeked over Marrons shoulder "I am the Void. Your people call me the Outsider. I shall do you no harm here, for I have no need too. But you interest me, and my last source of interest has given up my gift, so I shall offer it to you. Both of you."

"My mark, and the numerous benefits that would confer to you... The only price would be the Abbey and its clergy." They replied, a faint smile on their lips "All you have to do is say yes or no. Your choice." The figure slid closer, without appearing to move at all, they were just there, in a momentary blink "Take my mark, and use it to reclaim your heritage... or say no and struggle your own way up into the nobility."

(XD Outsider: pulling the camera frame closer)

The offer to reclaim their nobility made her stomach drop, like she was standing at the edge of the world. The old stories that their grandmother told her before she would sleep tickling her thoughts. The Outsiders chosen, and the things they did. Their line, their title, their power would never be questioned again. "I'll take it."

"Hmm. Are you so certain?" The Outsider smiled sadly, a slight shake of their head before another eyeblink had Lazuli stood infront of him, Marron five steps back "And you, Lazuli Moray. Do you wish to take this offer as well?" She gave a small, nervous nod "I... I do."
"So be it..." The pair would feel a intense heat burning into their left hands, and when they looked, they would find the outsiders mark burnt in black across the back of their hands, glowing in the same dark manner as the runes on the idol had.

Lazuli had tears in her eyes at the pain, clutching her hand as she bit her lip to hold back the scream that threatened to push past them, whilst the Outsider watched on impassively "And now you have my gifts. Whatever will you make of them?" He asked, even as the void itself seemed to contract, the distance closing in until they only had each other in the black.

As the shadows pooled around them, infinite nothingness surrounding them as Marron pulled Lazuli over to her. She didn't know what to make of this Stanger, this Outsider that handed away his mark. But if the power was real as the stories, it would be their strongest shift in the scales.

Lazuli hugged Marron tightly as the dark shadows began to envelope them, only taking the mark because her sister had done so before her, but as the pair clutched each other, the shadowy void would recede in a sudden bright flash, blinding them, and when it cleared... they were lying in their beds, left hands outstretched to each other over the gap between them, black marks fully visible across them.

As she moved, she'd hear a muffled groan from Lazuli as her sister woke up, but when the bag flipped open... the idol was gone, and in its place was a strange item, that almost looked to be a heart, slowly beating despite being so obviously removed from a body. And when she reached out to take it, she'd hear a voice she hadn't thought of for years, the voice of her grandmother, the same soft tones that had once told her of the outsider, and the voids supposed hand in their families downfall.

Marron fumbled the bag as she saw the heartin the bag, her instinct that it was some dark warning taking over. But she pulled it up again, looking closer at the composite heart. She grabbed it slowly, feeling the machinery inside it amove and grind.

Once it touched Marrons hand, something within the mechanism changed, the grinding of gears smoothing out as the beats matched her own heart, and somewhere in her mind a sense of knowing took over, an internal direction pointing her towards... something she didn't yet know. Another instinct came over her, to squeeze the heart and discover... some other facet of its workings.
