Deep in space, a small tear soon formed. glistening in the abyss, like a sparkling spot light, as a small ship slowly came through. as if it was a hot knife slicing through the fabric of space itself. the small vessel soon coming out of subspace once again. as it was a small craft, privately own. the owner being an older now retired woman who had earned enough to retire at a young age, compared to actual retirement age, thanks to her hard naval service. however on this ship the single mother would be spending a planned vacation with her son, as he would soon go from engineering into astro engineering with a naval force. following her foot prints so to speak but in his own way.

in the small ship, the sounds of computer's coming to life, as lights came on. revealing two cryo sleeping pods. which would begin to his. the young man, and his mother fully naked except for a fine fabric towel around their tender regions. as the pod would open, and the revival protocol's kicking in. the mother of the pair would be awakened, as the reason would be engine damage from a small asteroid impact while returning from subspace. as the ship was near a dangerous yet habitable death world. one which was registered in the system as a class 13, where earth itself was a class 15.

it would be the best area for an emergency crash landing and potential scavenge for material for repairs, however it was unknown if this was something she would be able to patch up, or have to go for the computer recommended planet side landing, which could be seen as a potential for some parent and child camping time off the grid. yet for right now the system would be slowly awakening Captain Marianne.

Marianne opened her eyes as the revival protocol roused her from the sleeping tank. It opened up and she sat up rapidly, the aletlerts snapping her to action. She threw on her jumpsuit, letting it compress around her curves. Hiding the round of scars on her belly and her legs, old shrapnel wounds from the grenade that led her to her early retirement and accreditations. She moved to the pilots seating as the ship read out potential landing zones and she flipped the toggles abd grabbed the wheel to make a manual landing. A swift landing to atlead start the reconstruction of the damaged section of the ship with the Standard Construct Array.

Now taking the controls by force, Marianne would begin to feel the gravity, and pressure of this planet. as the view began to glow red hot. the entry was a hard one to steer, but all her experience had aided this veteran into a safe crash landing. However as the ship began to come into the atmosphere, and the lush green, and purple plants began to come into view. the alien world would seem to be a magical sight of colors, if not for this horrible scenario she was currently in.

Yet the revival process had yet to begin for her son. who remained in a cryo stasis. was it ideal to keep him under, until the landing, or flip the switch to trigger his emergency awakening as well? for their was little time to decide, yet a single switch was all it took to awaken him quickly and properly. however as the land grew closer, the bladed steering wings of the shuttle like design could be seen bending, as they super heated. despite the insane temp they were designed for, something about this entry was pushing her state of the art personal craft to new levels of stress. however once the thick almost energy like cloud level was fully pierced it would make sense. as the entry had to deal with both gravity, and an unknown kind of energy this planet produced in the upper atmosphere. one which most did not know about, or at least not know much about.

it would be with the semi successful landing of her private, and now wrecked ship that the true test would begin on this unknown hostile world.

She noticed the mounting damage read outs, heat, much more than this poor ship could handle, the blade wings wouldn't survive much longer. Her hand moved without a thought needed, flicking the emergency pod revival protocols...and the ships transport beacons for it. Just in case. He would wake in only a few minutes, but it was better than leaving him stranded in the pod like s newborn. She steeled herself, hands weaving with instinct alone to manage the crash trajectory and what little wing she still had left.

The next set of events seemed to go by in the blink of an eye, and some how taking an eternity, as it was not long before Marianne found her son hopping into the seat next to her. still in his slumbering gown. as he took hold of the second set of controls, as she controlled the trajectory. he began to implement many fail safe systems, which should not be used normally for such an ordeal.

before the captain knew it, her son had the shuttle's emergency, sealing foam releasing on the outsite of the shuttle. as it made an absorbent layer around the heated metal. reducing the damage, as they began to drag through the forest, and smashing through countless tree's, until finally hitting into a massive rock. the ship was in horrid shape, as they would be stuck here even longer then if the emergency foam was not used. but the foam, despite making repairs all the harder for needing to be scraped off, after given a few days to harden. it did prevent any severe damage from puncturing into their cockpit.

panting, the boy smiled, as his hand moved onto his mother's thigh. looking over to her, with a rush of adrenaline in his system still. however unlike Marianne, her son would soon pass out from the over excitement.

" well that was a hell of a wake up call, I think we set a new ooh, not feeling so wel . . . ."

"You didn't wait-" she said as she turned herself to him, ignoring his hand on her , she stood up, putting her hands on his head. "You're still in stasis shift." She said as she felt how cool he still was. He'd collapse soon, but she knew he at the very least wouldn't be out for long. She cradled the release on his seat, letting the chair unfold and make him lay back down.

Now alone on her ship once more, Marrianne knew her son would awaken in a few hours. giving her some time to go out, and check out the alien world around them. as well as any thing they might need let alone the damage on the ship, which would be far worse then she expected.

the hissing of the ship, the flickering of the lights. the fact they came out of it just fine was a win, despite how badly damaged the ship was. the entire ordeal only reminded Marianne that the universe would always be dangerous, no matter how much experience one might possess, surviving it.

Marianne putted out the atmosphere suit, designed for foreign atmospheres and for keeping a clean oxygen supply. She had to test it for further dangers even if the ship noted ot to be safe. She took up the field testing kit and a shotgun that hadn't fallen from its armory cell and seemed to be operational.

Now outside, the ship creaked, the vine's and foliage covering it showed impressive colors, and thickness. her suit would alert, and inform Marrianne, that the atmosphere was a bit thicker then her body was use to. but would be safe, the gravity a good bit higher, thus moving with out the suit would be difficult but not impossible. however if she was not careful, the soft looking vines, would snare her arms, or legs if to close. revealing how she had crashed into a large vine trap plant. a strange life form, but the first of many unknown. however if she was careful, the vines would be harmless, and simple plants. as the sounds of wild life would seem similar to other planets which were hospitable to humanoid life forms.

( do we have mama get snared, and partially stripped by the plant before escaping? or have her witness a small avian getting snared up, and eaten by the plant? choice is yours wink wink. )

Marianne moved slowly for the moment, not willing to disturb anything that may be unseen. The suit systems caught movement, making her look up as a leathery looking bird flew over head, circling it seems. Perhaps looking for something to scavenge. Whilst Marianna slowed up, she saw the bird dropping lower and lower approaching the vines to land.
