Deep in space, a small tear soon formed. glistening in the abyss, like a sparkling spot light, as a small ship slowly came through. as if it was a hot knife slicing through the fabric of space itself. the small vessel soon coming out of subspace once again. as it was a small craft, privately own. the owner being an older now retired woman who had earned enough to retire at a young age, compared to actual retirement age, thanks to her hard naval service. however on this ship the single mother would be spending a planned vacation with her son, as he would soon go from engineering into astro engineering with a naval force. following her foot prints so to speak but in his own way.

in the small ship, the sounds of computer's coming to life, as lights came on. revealing two cryo sleeping pods. which would begin to his. the young man, and his mother fully naked except for a fine fabric towel around their tender regions. as the pod would open, and the revival protocol's kicking in. the mother of the pair would be awakened, as the reason would be engine damage from a small asteroid impact while returning from subspace. as the ship was near a dangerous yet habitable death world. one which was registered in the system as a class 13, where earth itself was a class 15.

it would be the best area for an emergency crash landing and potential scavenge for material for repairs, however it was unknown if this was something she would be able to patch up, or have to go for the computer recommended planet side landing, which could be seen as a potential for some parent and child camping time off the grid. yet for right now the system would be slowly awakening Captain Marianne.

Marianne opened her eyes as the revival protocol roused her from the sleeping tank. It opened up and she sat up rapidly, the aletlerts snapping her to action. She threw on her jumpsuit, letting it compress around her curves. Hiding the round of scars on her belly and her legs, old shrapnel wounds from the grenade that led her to her early retirement and accreditations. She moved to the pilots seating as the ship read out potential landing zones and she flipped the toggles abd grabbed the wheel to make a manual landing. A swift landing to atlead start the reconstruction of the damaged section of the ship with the Standard Construct Array.

Now taking the controls by force, Marianne would begin to feel the gravity, and pressure of this planet. as the view began to glow red hot. the entry was a hard one to steer, but all her experience had aided this veteran into a safe crash landing. However as the ship began to come into the atmosphere, and the lush green, and purple plants began to come into view. the alien world would seem to be a magical sight of colors, if not for this horrible scenario she was currently in.

Yet the revival process had yet to begin for her son. who remained in a cryo stasis. was it ideal to keep him under, until the landing, or flip the switch to trigger his emergency awakening as well? for their was little time to decide, yet a single switch was all it took to awaken him quickly and properly. however as the land grew closer, the bladed steering wings of the shuttle like design could be seen bending, as they super heated. despite the insane temp they were designed for, something about this entry was pushing her state of the art personal craft to new levels of stress. however once the thick almost energy like cloud level was fully pierced it would make sense. as the entry had to deal with both gravity, and an unknown kind of energy this planet produced in the upper atmosphere. one which most did not know about, or at least not know much about.

it would be with the semi successful landing of her private, and now wrecked ship that the true test would begin on this unknown hostile world.

She noticed the mounting damage read outs, heat, much more than this poor ship could handle, the blade wings wouldn't survive much longer. Her hand moved without a thought needed, flicking the emergency pod revival protocols...and the ships transport beacons for it. Just in case. He would wake in only a few minutes, but it was better than leaving him stranded in the pod like s newborn. She steeled herself, hands weaving with instinct alone to manage the crash trajectory and what little wing she still had left.

The next set of events seemed to go by in the blink of an eye, and some how taking an eternity, as it was not long before Marianne found her son hopping into the seat next to her. still in his slumbering gown. as he took hold of the second set of controls, as she controlled the trajectory. he began to implement many fail safe systems, which should not be used normally for such an ordeal.

before the captain knew it, her son had the shuttle's emergency, sealing foam releasing on the outsite of the shuttle. as it made an absorbent layer around the heated metal. reducing the damage, as they began to drag through the forest, and smashing through countless tree's, until finally hitting into a massive rock. the ship was in horrid shape, as they would be stuck here even longer then if the emergency foam was not used. but the foam, despite making repairs all the harder for needing to be scraped off, after given a few days to harden. it did prevent any severe damage from puncturing into their cockpit.

panting, the boy smiled, as his hand moved onto his mother's thigh. looking over to her, with a rush of adrenaline in his system still. however unlike Marianne, her son would soon pass out from the over excitement.

" well that was a hell of a wake up call, I think we set a new ooh, not feeling so wel . . . ."

"You didn't wait-" she said as she turned herself to him, ignoring his hand on her , she stood up, putting her hands on his head. "You're still in stasis shift." She said as she felt how cool he still was. He'd collapse soon, but she knew he at the very least wouldn't be out for long. She cradled the release on his seat, letting the chair unfold and make him lay back down.

Now alone on her ship once more, Marrianne knew her son would awaken in a few hours. giving her some time to go out, and check out the alien world around them. as well as any thing they might need let alone the damage on the ship, which would be far worse then she expected.

the hissing of the ship, the flickering of the lights. the fact they came out of it just fine was a win, despite how badly damaged the ship was. the entire ordeal only reminded Marianne that the universe would always be dangerous, no matter how much experience one might possess, surviving it.

Marianne putted out the atmosphere suit, designed for foreign atmospheres and for keeping a clean oxygen supply. She had to test it for further dangers even if the ship noted ot to be safe. She took up the field testing kit and a shotgun that hadn't fallen from its armory cell and seemed to be operational.

Now outside, the ship creaked, the vine's and foliage covering it showed impressive colors, and thickness. her suit would alert, and inform Marrianne, that the atmosphere was a bit thicker then her body was use to. but would be safe, the gravity a good bit higher, thus moving with out the suit would be difficult but not impossible. however if she was not careful, the soft looking vines, would snare her arms, or legs if to close. revealing how she had crashed into a large vine trap plant. a strange life form, but the first of many unknown. however if she was careful, the vines would be harmless, and simple plants. as the sounds of wild life would seem similar to other planets which were hospitable to humanoid life forms.

( do we have mama get snared, and partially stripped by the plant before escaping? or have her witness a small avian getting snared up, and eaten by the plant? choice is yours wink wink. )

Marianne moved slowly for the moment, not willing to disturb anything that may be unseen. The suit systems caught movement, making her look up as a leathery looking bird flew over head, circling it seems. Perhaps looking for something to scavenge. Whilst Marianna slowed up, she saw the bird dropping lower and lower approaching the vines to land.

In her protective outfit, Marianne would see the odd looking bird like creature, in all it's glory. the radiant colors, the massive scale, and feathered body glistening in the light. However it would be a short lived sight, as many plant tendrils would suddenly come to. swiftly coiling around each leg, wing, and head. before suddenly tearing the small avian into pieces, and consuming them, by quickly sprouting large flower looking heads. which engulfed each peace.

this only showed one of many potential anger's, however Marianne was not alone at least. meaning even if they used the wreck of their current ship as shelter. the two would need to scout out a water supply, and more stable shelter if the weather turned bad. however for now she had some work to start, and some specimen's to examine, before her son was cleaned up, dressed, and trying to join her on such a dangerous and unknown planet.

Marianne watched in silent horror as she saw the bird get shredded into bloody mince meat. The brutality of nature. And it told her quite well. Avoid the vines and flowers at all costs. She still had work to do, to find a watervsource for sample checks, and to examine the limits of this monster

As she looked about the ship, and the vines they crashed in. It would become painfully obvious that the vines were slowly wrapping around her downed shuttle. this was due to crashing into what looked like a core, or perhaps a colony of these ambush predatorial plants. yet the fact remained, this would need to be shared with her son later. For now the skilled, and experienced Milf would need to look around, for their would be signs of larger and smaller creature's all over the ground. Yet one path which would seem to have multiple size tracks would be most interesting. as this would lead to a small stream and watering area. however the tracks were a mix of multi blade tipped limbs, paws, what looked like tail markings and a even odd looking hoof prints.

She eyed the larger tracks beginning to follow along them keeping her gun at half ready position. The ship was in the midst of many deadly things, but it hopefully would be liberated with a bit of fuel and thrust if the plants were as active as they seemed. Marianne put the worry aside, focusing on hervtasl. Water and potentially a steady hunting ground were close enough by if these beasts weren't too deadly to hunt.

now able to get to a watering source safely, the retired ship captain would see her chance. as a large shadow moved in the water. away from her location, and tours the other side, where a massive deer looking creature with 6 eyes, and 8 legs was kneeling down. drinking of some water. a she would soon get a front row seat, to what looked like a cross between a salt water crock, and a squid ambushing this creature. it's jaws snapping on the throat, as tendrils shout out from around it's neck to snag the front four limbs. as it would drag the prey into the water. happing with in moments, but it would be a sight to behold, but also an opening which if she did not take. would pass the well trained milf with in moments. as her own child back at the ship would most likely begin to stir very soon, and was unaware of the dangers around their ship.

Marianne gasped softly as the saw the predator jump up abd sbatch it's prey inti the water. She moved quickly, collecting water for testing while she had the opening, then pulled further away the waters edge, putting the kit away to go back up for the ship.

Now having gathered her supplies, with the opening she had. More then that, now on the way back, the forest would seem to have changed. despite the tracks leading back to the ship being their. the way the fuana, and flora was now reacting, as if something was awakening. as the sky began to darken, and gain a mix of dark red, and orange hue to it.

on her way back, it would become quiet the visual change, however more then that. Marianne would find as the ship slowly came into view. she would see how the vines seemed to be slowly inching tours the door, and pushing into some of the cracks from the damaged metal. It would not pierce into the ship for a bit of time still. however it would give some thought to the issues at hand.

however the worse part would be how their would seem to be signs of movement, and flickering power, as if what ever her son was doing. this would be causing the wreck to be drawing more attention to it. as such, one could see it like a massive dinner bell being rang for who knew what kind of predators.

She mumbled a curse as she moved around the vines as swiftly as sge could without triggering a response . The ship was pulling in the floral notice. It it got inside or damaged any vital systems they would be trapped. She opened the sealed door to climb inside and flipped the switch to try to seal it up again.

Managing to get into the ship, and seal the door, with a hiss, and click. before a small portion of a vine which had managed to get on her shoulder was cut off by the door behind Marianne. however it fell to the ground wiggling a it. as the captain would spot her son prepping some tools, and supplies. as he was getting a suit together. having made it back in time to prevent her son from going out. as he was planning to go out, and take a good look at the damage, to see what he could do to help the repairs. unaware of the things, which his mother had seen on this alien planet.

She moved towards her son, grabbing his shoulders. "Bel- don't step foot out of this ship!" She said as she pinned him against the bulkhead. "The terrain itself is alive abd hostile, it's begun working its way around the ship, of it senses you it will eat you." She said

"well, then if that is the case, perhaps we need to properly gear up, and find a safe place outside the ship to make home while we save the power of our systems for emergencies?"

as he spoke his mind being more technical then worried. however sound his idea was, would the motherly instincts of marrianne allow this, despite how his words would make sense from her experience as a space naval pilot. it was a double edged sword she now walked, protecting her kin, and wasting the needed power of her wrecked ship, to make repairs all the harder, or find an exterior safe place, and thus save power, for repair, and fending off the growth which slowly tried to find ways into their safe domain of a ship at this moment in time.

She looked him the eyes as he spoke to her, knowing that the plan was for the best, moving the ship in this condition wasn't going to work. And where could they go? The planet was hostile clearly, it could very well be even more dangerous. "We'll need to initiate the void sealant system. It's low energy, it should keep the plants from worming into any sensitive systems." She said heaving a sigh as she let go of him.

Now with things going some what smoother then how it started. Marianne would find her son quickly getting to work, and showing off the skills which earned him his position. Little did the two know, that this night would be the first night, and the one which would change their way of living and seeing one another all together, perhaps not for the best. however for right now, she would find her boy getting to work, prepping two bags of supplies. emergency lights, even several first aid kits, and even wound sealant gel. things which one normally would not bring, yet they had on this ship.

his out fit was far from professional, unlike his mother's. as it was designed more for comfort, and flexibility, then hers was. however it would not be long before the two would be ready to leave the ship, and begin the void setting.

"Alright, what you think? should we look for proper shelter first? or find a supply of water, and food, then shelter near that?"
asking this, he had no idea the kind of wild life his mother had spotted, however he would learn all to soon, one way or another.

"The water supply I found has predators inside of it, I don't think dwelling nearby is the safest. They could snatch one of us the second we are preparing to sleep. A viable shelter is a better start, it allows us to set a base camp and to settle in in case things go south." She said as she took stock

"OH, so we have ambush preds in our supply location. maybe we can hunt the preds, like on earth? if it's anything like gator it would make for good eating. "

as he spoke, thinking like a hunter, and camper, not realizing the kind of beast, his mother saw. however it would not be long now, as Bel would soon soon be ready to step out and begin the shelter hunt. as the instruments read the planet was heavy and rich in O2, as well as several unknown gases. but acceptable for them to breath and survive in with out gear. yet for now gear would be the best bet, until a proper shelter was set up.

"ma, did you test the atmosphere already? do we really need our safety suits? they make mobility so hard. "
as he spoke asking this. making it clear he wanted to go with out the suit, for better mobility, however unlike him, Marianne had been out, and saw a glimpse of what this planet offered them already.

"You stay in your suit until I say som-" sge said jerking a finger at him, her tone stern, yet maternal. It wasn't to control but because she knew what sge saw, and his suitvwas far more better used keeping damage from his body. "The o2 levels are high, but I see other unknown reads on gasses. For allway know, it could be breathable poison that will turn us into human meat sacks, so you do not breath it either. Or will resurrect you from this place just to whoop you!"

"Oh come on, the tests show it is all safe, and nothing to worry about. " as he said this, suddenly being silenced by her waving finger, and empty threat, which made the boy chuckle. as he waved his hand and agreed. it would not be long now before the two found each other, side by side. with supplies in hand, as the massive door slowly hissed open. as once it closed behind them, it would go into the sealing mode. meaning they would not see the tech again for some time, until the supplies, and repairs were rightfully completely. with the power save mode it could be some time. but with the small black box in their belongings, where ever camp would be set up. If a rescue team showed up, they could be located rather easily.

now standing at the precipice of this new world, it would be time to take on their new roles as survivors. unaware that on this world, the mother, and son duo would become something akin to adam and eve of their world's old stories. even if not intended. however for now it would be one step at a time. as the carefree son would hop onto the ground first, before moving to offer, to take his mother's hand and help her down. despite Marianne not needing the help, it was a gesture she would never get from past comrades, or even her late lover. yet her son treated this retired, and experienced naval pilot like a woman in need of some care and protection, despite her being the more skillful and dangerous of the duo here.

"come mom, let's see what we can make of this world, while we can. "
saying this to her, with a truly gentle, and genuine look of both amazement, and excitement. something most people no longer held in such situation. yet here she could see it, the innocence which her son some how still possessed about unexplored planets.

She gave a slight laugh aslt his excitement as sge grabbed his hand, appreciating te gesture, sge raised him ti be a good little gentleman while she had the time. "This isn't a training course, making the most isn't what I'm after until we have the basics!" She reminded.

"Oh check these out ma, the flower's they ripple, when we move over them. the petal's they almost form small spike like feelers from the tips. alot like the fly trap plants back home. what you think should we see what happens if we pluck a petal?"

asking this, as he investigate each new plant. however this was also done with impressive care. however the fact remained, he got dangerously close to a few plants. as he did not see how some of them could ensnare prey from a small distance like the vines she saw attack that bird like creature earlier.

as this would go on, the sight would be something, however would Marianne decide to show her son some of the things she spotted. like how to notice the odd wild life, would she pull her boy back to their current task of scouting for any near by safe shelters. be it cave, or something they have to build around like a giant tree.

( you can choose if we go cave or hollow tree trunk wink wink. )

She grabbed his pack gently, tugging him backwards. "I saw those eat a flying beast bigger than you. " she said pointedly in a hushed tone. But she noticed the cave paths. "I'll explain what I've seen, but you need to pay attention." She said as she started to explain her findings, the triggers and dangers , while she start to lead him around. The caves might be safer...maybe.
