Derek frowns and lays down next to Kalin, pulling him close, "Is there anything else that's on your mind baby?"

Kalin sighs and nuzzles close, "Just that things are gonna be different. . ."

(Can we ts to the board meeting? I'm getting kinda bored with the current moment)

 

[Firestarter]

Derek sighs softly and pets Kalin's head gently, "Everything will okay, I promise."

(Sure!)

(thx. Drama time)

Kalin leans back in his desk chair, silent, "ten minutes,sir!"

 

[Firestarter]

Derek groans and scrubs a hand down his face before pushing himself up from his desk, "Fuck, I hate this damn meetings...."

Kalin grabs a folder and his tablet, pushing Derek's office door open, "I know you do, sir, but we can relax later."

 

[Firestarter]

Derek sighs and slowly walks with Kalin to the main meeting room, "I don't even understand why the hell they are here. They are onky supposed to come every 6 months and we just fucking met about 2 months ago."

Kalin shrugs, "I dunno. I'm sorry, I can always figure something out to change it."

 

[Firestarter]

"No its okay, they're already hear anyways." Derek glares at the main meeting room, already able to smell the God awful cologne the oldest board member wears. "Just don't let them intimidate or get under your skin with their glances. They have a bad habit of looking down on others who don't fit their ideals."

"Or leering-" Kalin mutter, "One leered earlier-" He rolls his eyes and tucks closer to Derek for a moment. He then pushes open the door, plastering a warm smile on his face.

 

[Firestarter]

As they walk into the meeting room, the board members scowl at Kalin's bright hair and flashy nails. The oldest grunts softly and shakes his head before looking at Derek.

Derek forces a smile while tucking one hand behind his back and clenching it into a fist, his knuckles turning white from the pressure. "Gentlemen....I see that you have come to bless us with another meeting earlier than usual."

Kalin tenses and looks at Derek before sighing and sitting down to the right of the head of the table.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek follows and sits down at the head of the table keeping a close eye on the board members. "What is it you all wanted to talk about?"

"It appears there is someone amongst your staff that doesn't want to follow business protocol with their choice of....style." One of the members says, glancing at Kalin with a disgusted sneer.

Kalin huffs, "Excuse me? I follow protocol!" He scowls slightly, lips pressed together.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek clenches his fists and lets out a heavy breath, "Kalin, do me a favor an go back to your desk. I need to speak with these gentlemen privately."

Kalin looks at Derek, "What?! De-But, sir-"

 

[Firestarter]

Derek gives Kalin a gentle nod and a small smile, "Everything will be fine, go ahead and head back to your desk." He turns to look at the board members again, glaring at them as they all watch Kalin, waiting for him to leave.

Kalin's jaw tightens, "No." He shakes his head, staying firmly seated.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek sighs and give Kalin a sad look before glaring at the oldest memeber, "What is it that you have a problem with? Clearly it's in regards to my assistant."

"He is a flamboyant, unprofessional, disgrace with his choice of attire and appearance! He needs to rather color that hair to a modest black or brown amd remove those nails or," the oldest member trails off, glaring at Kalin for a moment.

"Or what..." Derek says through gritted teeth, struggling to maintain his composure, "Or he is to be fired!" The oldest member sneers.

Kalin's grip tightened on his tablet, "My hair is a natural color, thanks. And my nails are withing the regulation. I wear slacks and a dress shirt with dress shoes."

 

[Firestarter]

Derek stands from his chair, hitting his fist on the table lightly, "You have no grounds to demand the termination of my assistant!"

The board members whisper and glare at Kalin, "He is nothing more than just a flashy thing for others to stare at! How is he supposed to work when he clearly puts too kuch work into his distasteful appearance."

"I suggest you watch your tongue...Kalin Rorena is the hardest worker I have here." Derek snarls, his muscles flexing so hard that his sleeves look as though they might tear.

Kalin stands, taking Derek's arm. "Derek-" He whispers.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek breaths heavily and his eyes almost turn black as he glares at the board members, "I will not terminate Mr. Rorena just because you guys do not like his style."

"You will do as we say! Unless you can prove that this little nuisance is actually a productive worker by the end of the month, than I expect his resignation letter to be emailed to me by that time!" The oldest member glares at Kalin as he stands up, being almost the same height as Derek before leading the other members our of the room.

Kalin closes his eyes, fingers curling slightly. "Derek-" He mumbles again, looking up at him and pressing close slightly

 

[Firestarter]

"They cant be fucking serious...." Derek breathes heavily and stares at the doorway in disbelief.

"THOSE MOTHERFUCKERS!" He slams his fist into the table and grits his teeth as he tries to hold back his anger.

Kalin squeaks, stepping away and biting his lip. "Derek, they can't, like, make you actually do that, can they?"

 

[Firestarter]

Derek breathes heavily and slumps his shoulders. He hangs his head, not wanting to say it but also not wanting to lie. "They....they can if they really want to."

He turns and looks at Kalin with sad eyes and gently places a hand on the other's cheek, "That's not going to happen. No matter what, they are going to see how hard of a worker you are."

Kalin hesitating then moves clover, sliding his hand up int Derek's hair. "I. . ." He bites down on his lip, looking away and then hides his face. He nuzzles into Derek's chest, "They won't see it, Derek. . ."

 

[Firestarter]

Derek tightly wraps his arms around Kalin, holding him as if Kalin were to disappear if he lets go, "They will see it whether they like it or not. I am still the owner of this company. They will not push you out of this fucking company without going through me."
