Kalin sucks on the lollipop, humming softly and following Derek.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek walks up the car as the driver nods to both of them as Derek opens the door for Kalin.

Kalin huffs and pushes him into the car first, “Insufferable prick.” He teases.

 

[Firestarter]

"Wha- Hey!" Derek staggers into the car and huffs as he sits back. "What was that for? I can't open a door for you now?"

Kalin climbs into the car, laughing, “Oh, you can, but there’s a 50/50 chance I shove you in.” He grins at Derek.

 

[Firestarter]

"And why would you push me in instead of just getting in the car?" Derek huffs a small laugh

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

“Because, I wanna.” He crosses his arms.

 

[Firestarter]

"Little brat." Derek teases as he pinches Kalin's cheek lightly.

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

“I know.” He smiles and nestles into Derek’s side.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek warps an arm around Kalin's shoulders and kisses the top of his head. "Where do you want to go for lunch baby?"

Kalin shrugs, “I dunno.” He looks up at Derek, smiling.

“I’m not really hungry.”

 

[Firestarter]

Derek smirks and caresses Kalin's cheek. "Then tell me what you want. It can be anything."

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

“Snuggles and attention.” He grumbles.

 

[Firestarter]

"Of course. Would you like to just drive around while I hold you are go somewhere more private and comfortable?" Derek says as he pulls Kalin onto his lap.

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

Kalin hums, “I dunno. . .”

 

[Firestarter]

"Then I'm choosing for you." Derek says before motion to the driver to take them back to his home.

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

Kalin bites his lip before pressing his face into Derek’s chest.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek smiles and pets the back of Kalin's head while holding him close. "I've missed you so much."

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

“You sure?” He mumbles.

 

[Firestarter]

"Why wouldn't I be sure about that?" Derek tilts his head as he lifts Kalin's chin to make him look up.

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

“Because I annoy you with my habits.” He mutters.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek sighs and shakes his head. "Kalin, I'm sorry. I should've worded that better when all of that happened. You don't annoy me. I'm just used to having everything super tidy and organized. So when I saw your stuff all over the place it just made things feel off for me." Derek cups Kalin's cheek and looks lovingly into those perfect green eyes. "Forgive me?"

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

Kalin bites his lip, “It did annoy you. . .” He mumbles, looking away.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek turns Kalin's face back to his and presses their foreheads together. "No baby, no. I just wasn't used to it. Please don't ever think that you annoy me." He lifts his head and places a long kiss to Kalin's forehead before looking back down into the other's eyes. "Are you able to tell me why you do those things though? I'm just curious."

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

Kalin sighs and nods slightly. He shifts slightly, “Um. . .” He looks away, silent.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek turn's Kalin's face yet again to look back at him and smiles warmly. "Please Kalin. You can tell me anything."

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

Kalin stares at him, shifting again, “I. . .” He pulls away, closing his eyes.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek frowns and gently pets Kalin's hair. "It's okay Kalin. I'm not going to see you any differently from how I see you now. You are and will always be my little minx."

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

Kalin nods slightly, “I have ADHD. . .” He mumbles.

(And now it all makes sense)

 

[Firestarter]

Derek remains silent for just a moment before smiling widely and huffing a small laugh. "Oh my god, Kalin, why didn't you just tell me sooner?" He wraps his arms around Kalin tightly and kisses his cheek. "I'm so sorry for how I reacted. If I had known, I never would've said anything."
