Kalin shrugs, “I was waiting for you and I guess I lost track of time.” He bites his lip.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek sighs and places both of his hands on Kalin's shoulders, spinning him around and pushing him towards the bedroom while following. "Go back to bed. I'm just going to stay out here on the couch."

Kalin bites his lip hader, pressing his heels into the floor, “Then I’m staying out here with you.”

 

[Firestarter]

Derek raises an eyebrow. "What? No, just go relax in the bed so you are warm and comfortable."

Kalin shakes his head, gripping onto Derek’s wrist, “Nuh uh! I’m staying with you.”

 

[Firestarter]

Derek groans and leans his head back. "Why do you want to stay out here? It's not nearly as warm and the couch is going to be uncomfortable for you."

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

Kalin huffs, “I want to stay with you.” He looks up at Derek.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose. "Alright, but don't say I didn't warn you about it being uncomfortable." Derek walks back towards the couch and flops down on his back.

Kalin grumbles and then crawls on top of Derek, his head nestling into his chest, “Don’t know why you don’t want to sleep on the bed. . .”

 

[Firestarter]

"It's just....nevermind. It's not important." Derek covers his eyes with one arm and sighs softly.

Kalin hums softly and slowly starts to fall asleep, nestling closer to Derek.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek rubs one hand up and down Kalin's back gently as the other falls asleep. He would've fallen asleep as well if his mind wasn't racing. Instead, Derek remains awake but just has his eyes closed.

Kalin nestles close to Derek, squeaking in his sleep.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek huffs a small laugh and shakes his head. He looks out the window while still rubbing Kalin's back and slowly watches the sky turn from black to beautiful shades or orange and red as the sun starts to come up.

Kalin eventually wakes up, his face pressed into Derek’s chest.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek glances down at Kalin and smiles softly. His eyes are little red and there are a few bags under his eyes from not sleeping. "Good morning. Did you sleep well?"

Kalin nods, yawning, “Mmm. . .” He mumbles.

“You?”

 

[Firestarter]

"I'll be okay." Derek gently cups Kalin's face with one hand and rubs the other's cheekbone with his thumb. "Would you like to take a shower with me?"

Kalin chews on his lip, “Derek. . .” He murmurs.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek tilts his head slightly but continues to caress Kalin's cheek. "What's is it?"

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

Kalin bites his lip, concerned, “I’m worried for you. . .”

 

[Firestarter]

Derek smiles and shakes his head. "I'll be okay, I dealt with this for the entire week you were gone. One day won't end me."

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

Kalin bites his lip, “You didn’t sleep yesterday either. Derek. . . You need sleep. You should talk to your doctor.”

 

[Firestarter]

"Meeeeh...I'll be fine. It's not a medical issue." Derek slowly rolls up from the couch while shifting Kalin in his arms to carry the other.

Kalin bites his lip, “Derek, it’s your health! You need sleep to be healthy!”

 

[Firestarter]

"Shush. I'm fine. Now let's just go shower and get ready for work." Derek stands and carries Kalin to the bathroom before setting him down and turning on the hot water.

Kalin sighs softly, “Derek.”

 

[Firestarter]

Derek pushes a finger to Kalin's lips and shakes his head. Once the shower is warmed up and ready, he pulls the other inside and let's the water run over both of them.

Kalin looks down, chewing his lip and tugging on his hair slightly.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek grads Kalin's hands and leans down to loom directly into his eyes. "Please stop, I'm alright. I don't want you worrying people stressing out." He kisses Kalin's cheek and smiles.
