Kalin smiles at Derek, gently rubbing his thumb over the other's thigh, more a loving touch than one meant to tease. He looks at Demi, "Oh, thank you, pumpkin. I take very good care of it. I'll wave teach you how to have beautiful hair." He leans down, letting her touch his hair if she wanted.

 

[Firestarter]

Demi squeals and pets Kalin's hair for a moment before looking at her own, noticing the different color. "Can I have colored hair someday?"

Derek smiles and gently rubs his hand up and down Kalin's back before looking at Demi. "Maybe when you're older sweetheart."

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

"Yeah, when you're older." He touches her hair, but you still have such beautiful hair, pumpkin."

He looks at Derek, sliding his hand up slightly, going back to teasing.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek clears his throat softly and gathers up the dishes so he has an excuse to escape Kalin's teasing.

Demi plays with her hair for a moment before trying to run her fingers through it, needing it to be brushed.

Kalin tsks softly, gently pulling her hand away, "Well brush that soon, okay?" He looks at Derek, touching his arm and kissing him softly. "Love you." He takes Demi's hand, "Let me show you to papas vanity."

 

[Firestarter]

"Love you too." Derek says as he watches Kalin and Demi walk away.

Demi smiles and walks quickly to keep up with Kalin. As she sees all of Kalin's care products, her eyes light up. "Wow! This is so pretty!"

Kalin smiles at her, sitting down and lifting her onto his lap, "Daddy buys it all for me. He'll get stuff for you too when you need it." He picks up a brush, gently holding her hair and brushing the ends.

"Do you like makeup? I know you're young to be wearing it, but do you like the way it looks?"

 

[Firestarter]

Demi smiles and tries to hold still while Kalin brushes her hair, looking at all the pretty colored eyeshadows. "I've never played with make up before. I was told I'm not allowed to touch it."

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

Kalin smiles, "Well, I won't let you use my expensive makeup, but I have some cheaper makeup that you could use." He gently works at a particularly bad tangle.

 

[Firestarter]

Demi smiles and looks around at everything on the vanity again. "That sounds fun." She winces as the brush accidently pulls her hair and pouts a little. "My hair isn't as pretty as yours is..."

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

Kalin smiles, "It will be, Ill make sure of it. Maybe we can get come little color strips to clip into your hair." He kisses her temple.

 

[Firestarter]

Demi's eyes light up and he shakes with excitement. "Really?! Yes please!"

Kalin smiles, finishing her hair. "Of course, pumpkin."

 

[Firestarter]

Demi lightly turns her head back and forth to see her hair without tangling it again. "Will daddy think I'm pretty now that my hair is brushed?"

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

"Daddy will think you're pretty no matter what, pumpkin." He runs his fingers through her hair and then gently pulls the front strands back, grabbing a ribbon. He ties it into her hair, making a bow.

 

[Firestarter]

Demi smiles widely and squeals as she sees the ribbon.

Back in the kitchen, Derek finishes washing the dishes before plopping down on the couch, sighing softly after a long day.

"Now, I did do some shopping after we found out we were getting a girl. I didn't tell Daddy because it's gotta be a surprise." He stands her off his lap, moving to a pile of bags, digging through them to pull out a dress. Nothing to fancy, just a simple frock with a subtle flower pattern.

"Now, I don't know what you like, so if you don't like the dress, I also got a nice shirt and a skirt or shorts."

 

[Firestarter]

Demi stares at the dress with wide eyes and tentivaly reaches out towards it. "It's...really for me?" She murmurs softly as her eyes start to glisten with tears.

Kalin smiles, nodding. "All for you." He stands, "Do you need help putting it on so you don't mess up your hair?"

 

[Firestarter]

Demi sniffles and nods, not wanting to ruin Kalin's work on her hair. "Yes please."

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

He smiles, unzipping the back of the dress, "Lets get just that shirt off, your back to me, facing the wall." He smiles, helping her take the shirt off and then quickly and carefully slides the dress on.

"Now you take your pants off, and I'll give you some clean underwear to change into in the bathroom and then we can go show Daddy.

 

[Firestarter]

Demi follows Kalin's instructions and finishes getting changed before walking out of the bathroom. Her steps are small and slow, not wanting to ruin the dress as she looks up at Kalin with a smile.

He smiles brightly, "You looks so beautiful, pumpkin." He takes her hand, gently smoothing out any wrinkles.

"Come on." He carefully leads her towards the living room. "Babe, close your eyes."

 

[Firestarter]

Derek closes his eyes and smiles, wondering what Kalin has planned. "Okay, they're closed."

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

He smiles and walks Demi in front of Derek, patting her head gently and then sitting next to Derek, "You can open now."

 

[Firestarter]

Derek opens his eyes and smiles widely as he sees Demi. "Awwww, look at the little princess!" He leans forward and holds his hands out for Demi to come closer, lifting her up onto his lap.

Kalin smiles, nuzzling Derek's shoulder and kissing it once before looking at Demi. "I did a little shopping."

 

[Firestarter]

Derek smiles and gently pets Demi's hair, being careful not to mess it up, "I can see that. Now I want to buy her even more dresses with how precious she is."

Demi giggles and hugs Derek's neck tightly.

Kalin laughs softly, "Of course you do." He rubs Demi's back, "Our sweet little angel."

 

[Firestarter]

Demi blushes and hides her face in Derek's shoulder, whining shyly.

Derek smiles and kisses the side of her head. "Such a perfect little princess."
