At the same time, the woman at the other table scoffs again and rolls her eyes, muttering under her breath. "He clearly doesn't like you. Get over yourself."
Derek gently caresses his thumb over the back of Kalin's hand as the waiter comes up. He gives the waiter their order along with a bottle of wine before turning to smile at Kalin again. "Would you like to do anything else after dinner? Maybe take a walk along the beach or in a park?"
The woman sighs heavily once again and starts murmuring to her friend about Derek being desperate and not being able to see how Kalin is obviously uninterested.
The woman rolls her eyes and shakes her head. "He's so desperate. You're clearly not interested, so he needs to just give up and stop being a damn tool."
Kalin stands, placing his hands on his hips, "Excuse me? My husband is not a tool. And I'm interested in what he has to say. Next time, mind your own business."
Derek laughs softly and reaches over to clean the cheese from Kalin's chin with thumb. "I said you're so cute." Licking his thumb clean of the cheese, Derek smirks and shakes his head. "I remember how hard it was to get you to eat at Flemmings the first time."
Derek laughs and looks down. "It wasn't just the price you had a problem with and you know it. You were so flustered about eating with me after everything that happened in the elevator."
Derek laughs and reaches out to gently caress Kalin's face with his thumb. "And it was and will forever be my favorite memory. It's what changed my life and made me the happiest man on earth."
