General RP Damnit, There's Kids Now! (Firestarter)

"You heard what I said, boy. This little insect came into the company looking like a promising employee, when all he really wanted was a meal ticket on your wallet." Chris says before taking a sip of his wine.

Derek's hands shake as he tries to remain calm, "I should've taken things farther that night I sent you to the hospital."

Chris shakes his head and starts to cut his steak, "I figured you would've stayed with someone of your status, not some common slut who will leave when you're old and can't perform."

Derek growls low and dangerously in his throat, but wraps a protective arm around Kalin as he walks with him to their table. His eyes are dangerously dark and his face holds a level of anger that Derek has always tried to hide.

Derek's arm flexes around Kalin as he struggles to hold in his anger, but he bites his tongue hard in the hope of salvaging the night for Kalin.

Pulling out the other's chair, Derek frowns at Kalin while his eyes fill with sorrow and pain. "I'm so sorry, darling. Please....don't let what that decrepit old fool says get to you."

Kalin looks up at him, smiling and reaching up to touch his cheek, "I think it's effecting you more than me."

Derek closes his eyes and looks down, pressing a kiss to the inside of Kalin's wrist.

Kalin smiles and leans forward, kissing him, "I love you, babe, no matter what." He whispers.

Derek kisses him back softly, reaching up to cover Kalin's hand with his own. "I love you too, baby. Always and forever."

Derek huffs a laugh and shakes his head, "Even if you can't eat anything other than quesadillas."

After helping Kalin into his seat, Derek shoots a warning glare in the direction of his father before taking his own. "You already know the drill, baby. Order anything you like."

Kalin smiles at Derek, reaching out to hold his hand as he looks over the menu. "Hmm. . . Too bad we're not at Flemming's. That Mac and Cheese if their's sounds good right about now. . ." He murmurs, rubbing his thumb along Derek's knuckles.

Derek smiles and lightly squeezes Kalin's hand. "I know baby, but I figured it would be fun to try something new. I'll take you to Flemmings next time though."

Kalin looks up and wiggles happily, looking back down, "Oh, they have this pasta. . . Shrimp, chicken, kielbasa, and a cheese sauce!" He glances up at Derek and leans forward, "What are you gonna get?"

Derek smiles and glances over the menu, "I think I'm going to try their Chicken Flourentine. It sounds really good."

Kalin hums softly, playing with Derek's hand and nodding, "Sounds good?" He laughs softly, "Dunno. Fancy words- dumb it down for husband-" he teases.

Derek chuckles and playfully fights Kalin's hand for dominance, "It's a chicken dish with pasta, spinach, and sundried tomatoes in a cream sauce. I've had it before but not jn a really long time."

Kalin listens, staring at Derek's hand and then just grabs the other's fingers and smirks triumphantly up at him.

Derek snaps his eyes up at Kalin, smirking wickedly. "Oh? You're playing that game?" He chuckles and squeezes Kalin's hand playfully.

Kalin squeals softly, and wiggles his hand, brow bunching in concentration. He sticks his tongue out slightly as he tries to wiggle his fingers feet and keep his hold on Derek at the same time.

Derek chuckles and continues to playfully fight with Kalin, not noticing the table next to him.

A woman scoffs and shakes her head, "What a tool."

Kalin blinks and looks up from his intense hyper focus session. He huffs and stops messing with Derek's hand, losing interest as ADHD go burr

Derek shoots a glance at the table next to them and huffs before looking back at Kalin. "Are you alright baby?"

Derek gently takes Kalin's hand and smiles, "There's nothing to be sorry for baby. I just want you happy."
