General RP Damnit, There's Kids Now! (Firestarter)

Kas had calmed down the moment Derek started to hold him, closing his eyes.

Kalin sighs and walks back inside, going to Kas's room and leaning against the door frame.

Derek hums a softly lullaby while laying Kas in his crib, trying not to wake him before turning to look at Kalin. "I'm sorry..." He whispers

Derek follows closely behind, closing the sliding glass door and stuffing his hands into his pockets.

Kaylin rolls his pants up, sitting down on the edge and dipping his feet into the water. He stares at the surface, swishing his feet as he thinks for a long moment.

"I know and I'm sorry. I never meant to hide her from you. I swear to you, I had almost forgotten she existed." Derek sighs and runs both his hands through his hair.

"That's just it. How do you just. . . Forget your sister Derek? No matter what she did, how do you just forget the person you were raised with?" He faces the other, narrowing his eyes.

Derek blows out a heavy breath and paces around. "I don't know, Kalin. I just...I pushed her from my mind as much as I could. My life was almost fucking ruined because of her."

"It wasn't because of her!" He stands, "Or maybe it partially was, but you can't blame your sister for making teenage, irrational decisions."

He walks over, cupping Derek's face, "You can be mad at your sister, but don't block her out because of something that happened a decade ago."

Derek grinds his teeth and tries to look away. "I almost lost everything just because she was a spoiled little bitch, Kalin. For all we know, you never would've met me if things hadn't gotten fixed."

Kalin pulls Derek's face back to him, "Who took the rumor and turned it into a weapon? Waist your sister who acted like you raped her? No!" He narrows his eyes.

"Maybe she had wanted to hurt you, but she didn't want that to happen, Derek. You need to forgive her, because all your doing is rubbing salt into a wound and it's not making you any better a man."

Derek clenches his fists and lets out a heavy breath. "Did you think I was a horrible man when you met me?"

"I never said you were a horrible man. I wouldn't have dated you if I thought that, much less marry. I said it doesn't make you any better a man." He slides his hands down, pulling Derek's arms around his waist and sways side to side. "I love you, no matter what, and I'll support whatever you do, but I want to give her a chance to be part of the kids' lives. Just like I did your parents."

"I love you too..." Derek let's out a soft breath and takes a step back from Kalin. "I'm going to take a drive....I need to clear my head."

Kalin bites his lip, nodding, "O-Okay. . ." He nuzzles into Derek's chest, taking a deep breath for a moment, "Don't be gone too long, okay? I still wanna relax with you before Demi gets home." He whispers.
