Fantasy RP Kindness Goes A Long Way

It was amazing all Tora was learning since running away from Lucio. Still, some experiences were not quite as fun, first ending up pregnant after giving in to her instincts, only to lose one kit days later. Was this how the circle of life works? Tora pouts, not even given joy by Aaron's praise and affection, losing a life after living her life captive, feels big. She glances toward Onyx as she speaks, feeling guilt sink in to realize they must have made it an emergency to get her here. "Great, more rest," she grumbles, pinning back her ears. She only got to run about that one time at the house and freaked out Aaron in the process of reopening her wounds. It was the most fun she had had in a while. Plus, she reeked of blood, which was not helping her mood at all. "Thank you, Onyx," she hoped the other was not interrupted because of her.

Onyx smiles and nods softly, understanding the struggle with wanting to run around when being told to stay put. "Don't worry, you will be able to run and jump again soon. We just need to make sure your kit is protected." Packing up her supplies, Onyx stands and follows Syra to another room for her to stay in. Aaron sighs and runs his hands through his hair. He still blames himself, thinking he put too much stress on Tora at one time or another. "I'm so sorry, Tora. I should've been more attentive." Reaching up, he pets her hair softly and scratches behind her ear. "I'll do everything I can to make your rest at least a little more enjoyable though."

Nodding her head in understanding she watches Onyx follow after Syra, least she can rest on the boat. Tora focuses on Aaron, he was torn up over this incident. She inhales a deep breath for a moment before slowly letting it out, calm herself. “You fret over me all the time, this was not either of our fault. Just nature being cruel” she reassures him. Already knowing sleep was out of the question tonight she smiles to an idea. “You can read to me or teach me to read” least her mind will be kept busy. It would be exciting to at last learn to read, understand a little more of the world.

Aaron smiles, liking the idea of enjoying a good story with her. His arms wrap gently around her waist, keeping Tora close to his chest. "I think that's a great idea." He murmurs softly, burying his face in her hair while enjoying her warmth. "How are you feeling so far? Still in a lot of pain?" Despite his worry, he continues to smile as to not look like a depressed puppy.

Finding his need to keep her close adorable and heart warming, his arms felt like a shield from the scary world. She swallows uncertain how to answer his question “uh…it is subsiding” not wanting him to worry. His reaction to the miscarriage plus his serious side when she was in danger made her feel guilty. “So, what do you feel like reading?” She changes topics.

Sighing softly with a small smile, Aaron tries to relax and keep things happy for Tora. He'd rather suffer in silence than put any more stress on her. "Well, how about you tell me what stories you like to hear, and I'll pick something out that I think you'll enjoy." He nuzzles his nose against hers, trying to salvage their special time together.

The change in topics was successful, which does mean he will bring it up again, but for now, their minds can focus on happier things. "Well, I do enjoy a good romance, but adventure with knights, war, and sailing the seas are also intriguing," she hums with a big smile. The power to read his mind would put her at ease, his expression seemed suppressed from the height of what he truly was feeling.

With a soft nod, Aaron pulls out his phone and begins looking for an interesting title. "Alright, let me see if i can find something that will keep you on your toes." Taking into account their situation with being on a boat, Aaron spots a title from his younger days and smiles. "I think you might like this one. It's about a young man on a boat with three animals trying to survive the ocean." Settling in next to Tora and pulling her close, Aaron begins to read aloud.

Eyeing the device he seemed to used as communication also gathering information seemed smaller than Lucio’s. She always wanted to look through it finding the technology fascinating but she also got in trouble when she tried. For now she focused on his voice, enjoying his story until she fall into a slumber. The cramping had faded away, the bleeding stopped, and she was content. They had twins for a short time but only one was strong enough to continue the path to life.

Feeling her body go limp in his arms, Aaron smiles and saves their place for late. Locking his phone and setting it aside, he curls up with Tora and kisses the side of her head. "Sleep well, baby."

Come morning, Aaron slowly opens his eyes and yawns. His arm had fallen asleep due to holding Tora. Looking down at her in his arms, he can't help admire how peaceful she looks when she's sleeping. Her nose is so small and cute while her face looks angelic. Pressing a kiss to her nose, Aaron remains still so she can wake on her own.

At some point in the night, she curled around his arm like a big teddy bear, offering soft purrs while in her slumber. A twitch of her nose, she sensed he was awake, must be morning, or he could not help staring as the darling tiger slept. She peeks open one eye, meeting his face, which creates a smile and a light giggle. "Good morning," she purred in greeting. Tora shifts to lean up and pecks his cheek.

Feeling the blood rush back into his arm, Aaron smiled and slowly sat up. "Good morning. How are you feeling?" Just by seeing her smiling and hearing her giggle, he could tell she was feeling better, but he'd rather hear it from her personally. "If you're hungry, I can sneak into the kitchen and whip you up something before the cooks do."

His expression of relief drew her gaze to his arm as he lifted it, did she make him uncomfortable when sue cuddled it? “Oh…” snapping attention back to him “yes, I feel good and hungry” nodding her head. “But I prefer watching you cook” she admits. Tora may never learn how to properly cook least she can watch her handsome man do it.

Tilting his head, Aaron imagines what Tora will look like as her belly swells, their offspring growing inside. Just the thought of seeing Tora becoming a mother was enough to make his heart throb. "I'd like that. Come on, we should get in there before the cooks try to take over." Standing from the bed, he holds his hand out to her with a warm smile. "Maybe you can help me as well if you'd like to."

A blink of surprise when offered his hand after he get up from where they laid “oh no more carrying?” She teased. Rising to her feet she offered a big stretch before taking his hand. “So what shall you cook me today?” She giggled, his food tasted amazing. Sure yesterdays dinner was fine but knowing he cooked it made it even more delicious.

Aaron rolls his eyes and laughs softly. "Wasn't you who had to remind me that you can walk on your own?" He pulls her closer and kisses the side of her head as he leads the way to the kitchen. As a few cooks look his way, they get ready to protest before he shoots them a warning glance. "How about I make you some French toast with a bowl of fruit in the side?"

Following him, she glanced to the sides when passing others,, finding their energy unsettling. She disliked her sixth sense, but it was useful at times. Once entering the kitchen, she looked up to Aaron, feeling him glare down at any cooks who even thought of saying a word to them, she could not help grinning. He was something else, a man of honor, sensitive and kind, who made her proud of him. "French toast?" she purrs, licking her lips. "That sounds sweet and yummy!" she squeaked, hopping up to sit on an empty counter. "But what fruit are you thinking?" curious about what else in the fruit group she has yet to try.

Grabbing everything he needed from the fridge, Aaron begins mixing the eggs with some milk and cinnamon. Finding an uncut loaf of bread, Aaron twirls a serrated knife in his fingers like a toy before cutting a few thick slices. "You're correct in thinking french toast is sweet. It's topped with syrup and powdered sugar. I tend to add a little bit of berry sauce as well." He winks playfully, keeping out a few other details of how he plans to play up her breakfast. "As for the fruit. The items i have found that go best with french toast are strawberries, bananas, and oranges."

A wonder spiked up in her mind: Was cooking a common skill for anyone? She could not help finding it quite amazing to watch and eat the delicious meals prepared for her. Well, so far, Aaron's cooking was her favorite; anything the chef made back in the hell house was a diet manufactured by Lucio. The thought of something sweet made her mouth water, along with the excitement of trying these new fruits he spoke of pairing well with French Toast. Tora had the honor to taste strawberries, a small, little red treat, but oranges and bananas would be new upon her taste buds.

Holding on to the edge of the counter with her hands while her feet kick out lightly while she watched him expertly cook away before her very eyes. "What is your favorite dish that you have made?" she asked, curious about his answer.

Seeing how curious and amazed Tora is about his cooking causes a wide smile to curl at the edges of his lips. He had always just thought of cooking as being a self-sufficient adult, but with how she grew up, it was understandable as to why she couldn't see that. He could just imagine Tora trying to make something in their own kitchen, probably getting spices and flour all over the place.

"My favorite dish? Hmmm... that's a tough one. I've made so many." Dipping the large slices of bread into the egg mixture, Aaron thinks back to the many things he's made, one in particular jumping out since he used to make it almost once a week. "I'd have to say those are my tangy and spicy Mango-pepper chicken wings."

Her gaze was trained on his hands watching their every movement to creating this dish. She breaks her contact when he finally finds an answer for her question. A head tilt of confusion occurs “chicken wings…” she spoke quietly. Tora attempted to imagine this meal, certainly had spices and was meat based. “You must make it for me some time!” She squeaks followed by a smile.

Tora hops off the counter, wandering the kitchen, not daring to touch a thing but taking in the tools and supplies. “How long is this voyage?” She questioned. Yes, she adored the water, hasn’t swam yet but maybe when they arrive to the island. The boat aspect though she wasn’t fond of she was finding out.
