When the storm raged around you, you did everything you could to pull up your catch. You needed to bring whatever was in that net back to shore to make your money. Having the life of a fisherman wasn’t easy, but for you, it paid well. And sometimes, you usually ate what you caught as well.
But tonight, was different. The load you caught felt heavier than normal, and you’re sure you may have caught a shark or something- to which you have before, but none were as heavy as this.
Then, you saw it- as the net was pulled up by your pulley system, and the gears were whirring from exhaustion. There it was. A frightened, thrashing creature. Half human, half fish. The creature was undeniably beautiful, and it occurred to you that those tales of sirens were actually true.

Calypso obviously was scared, she had never been captured before by human contraptions— and had managed to avoid human contact up until now. She had always been careful, if anything too careful. She wasn’t like her sisters, who used to lure men out to sea and crash their ships, no, she wasn’t like them. She’d prefer to stay away and avoid them all together.
