Introductions Welcome New Users!

Hi everyone, you can call me Storm! I'm 30+ and I've been writing since I was 11/12. My favorite genres include fantasy, sci-fi, and romance, and I only write in third person. (I'm a Black Dahlia refugee)
Hi and hello!! Lovely to see yet another friendly user :3 hope you enjoy your time here and I hope you have very many wonderful rps!

Who you are, and how long have you been roleplaying?:
Hello! I’m Shade, Lady if you wanna be formal ;) I’ve loved role playing since I was very young, and started rping online at thirteen. Eventually, life got in the way. More recently, I’ve gotten into a lot of different ttrpgs, but with busy life and adult schedules, I decided to try to get back into online rping, so here I am! I’m very excited to meet everyone and get started!

What’s your favorite genre of rp?:
I love fantasy and romance, usually the two combined. I love modern fantasy and good ol’ fashioned fantasy as well. Anything that has magic and allows me to escape reality for a bit, really :)

What pov do you prefer to write in?:
If you’re a veteran rp poster, what is one tip you’d give to new rp’ers?
I don’t know if I would call myself a veteran, but if I had advice, it would be to just get in there and give it a go! Sometimes nerves get in the way, but the best way to get started is by just jumping in and doing your best, and most importantly having fun!
Oh, and usually I prefer third person :)

Thanks for taking the time to read this! Stay alive, friends! <3

Hiya, I go by Alex (she/her), though anything stemming from my username also works (‘Crow’, ‘Regina’, etc.). I came over here from Black Dahlia, since that site’s shutting down.
I’ve been roleplaying for around a decade at this point, I’d say; if I were to give a tip for new rpers, it’d be to have fun with it. That’s why we write, right? I’m a sucker for romance rps but I also love having some adventure, hurt/comfort, and slice of life mixed in; I prefer writing in third person.

My name is Diego, I have been playing TTRPGs for over a decade, but haven't done any one-on-one roleplaying yet. I'm mostly interested in fantasy, mystery, and scifi. I flip back and forth between 3rd person and first person it really depends on what the story is.

Hello!! Those who are from Black Dahlia I definitely recommend bringing over any of your rp partners you had over there to here to make the transition easier! As it’s always best to have some familiar faces you know to get things started- those from tumblr, welcome as well! I look forward to everyone enjoying their days here. And if you’re inactive for a time due to life or whatever it is, our doors are always open and you’ll always have a room here at the mansion 🩵 But definitely don’t hesitate to reach out to any of our more active members or even those that come and go, any of us would love to make new rps with ya’ll!

  1. Who you are, and how long have you been roleplaying?

Heya, I'm Zain, 25 male and I've been rping for about... 5~ ish years? Mostly on dnd servers, and I've been meaning to branch out recently.

  2. What’s your favorite genre of rp?

I love me some romance, I am a bit of a sap. But I also love sibling dynamics and found family dynamics. Give me anything with emotional depth. Also, I am not sure if this is a genre, but I love playing characters that look inhuman (A doll, a warforged, an insectoid) who slowly understand what it means to feel and have sentiments.

  3. What pov do you prefer to write in?

Third person point of view, usually in past tense. Though I may slip up here and there, lmao.

  4. If you’re a veteran rp poster, what is one tip you’d give to new rp’ers?

I don't know that I would call myself a veteran, but one tip I usually have is that people should rp in a way that makes it not be a chore at times.
Try and progress any conversation, and don't worry so much about what is in character or not. Try and figure out WHY a character would act differently than saying they would never act differently. If that makes sense.

  5. **OPTIONAL: How did you find this website? (for website traffic info purposes only)

Tumblr! I am new on the site there, and I was looking for places to rp.
Thank you for having me!

Hello!
I'm Sol. Black Dahlia refugee and veteran roleplayer of at least 16 years. I seem to be neither an early bird or a night owl, but rather some perpetually exhausted pigeon.

As a cautionary forewarning to all any future prospective rp friends: I am red/green colorblind and find it extremely miserable reading red or green texts in posts.

I prefer third person-past tense rp as it's the easiest for me to wrap my head around.

I enjoy the written word, and find a joy in inventing worlds, stories, and characters. Roleplaying got me through a dark time in my life that would have been difficult to overcome otherwise, and while I don't have as much time as I used to have, it's still a passion of mine. Fantasy would be my favorite genre of roleplay, but I'm extremely flexible when it comes to that as long as the plot has some substance to it. I'm a sucker for fluff and romance, but it's not a necessity. I'm an artist, and sometimes like to draw my characters when I get the inspiration. My art is like a journal for me, and it helps me get my thoughts out there.

1. Who you are, and how long have you been roleplaying?
My name is Blake, but you can call me Bug, Bng, idrc. I have been roleplaying for 13 years, since I was ten years old. I started roleplaying on a pesky little website called quotev .com back in the early stages right after it transferred over from Quizazz.

2. What’s your favorite genre of rp?
I am a fantasy person through and through. I love the drama, the angst, the build up of suspense. My special interest is vampires, thus I have created my own worldbuild for that style of roleplaying as well. I do not roleplay smut on account of being married, and my wife not being comfortable with it.

3. What pov do you prefer to write in?
3rd.

4. you’re a veteran rp poster, what is one tip you’d give to new rp’ers?
LISTEN. When people are giving you tips to improve your writing, scene development, anything, do not take it personally. Ultimately, roleplaying is strengthening your writing skill as well as your imagination, regardless of what you are writing. People are trying to help you become a better writer so that you have less abandoned roleplays, or more successful projects in the future, not offend you to the point of not wanting to roleplay again.

Welcome! Welcome!

Happy to see another married writer! Wishing you all the fun and thrilling roleplays you dreamed of!

You can call me Herbs and I've been off/on doing this for 20+ years kinda? I started out on forums in the ancient web 1.0/early web 2.0 days. Not been very consistent/active but I still feel the urge to do so, and here I am.

My favorite genres are: Some flavor of fantasy, but I can do some sci-fi. I'm also a fan of like TTRPG and like TTRPG-ish elements in roleplays. I'm also a weeb, so certain anime inspired stuff is an influence and draw to me. Such as mechs, the more techno-magic settings JRPGs like to do, or people with flashy powers doing cool fights.

As for tips, don't really have one beyond don't take this too seriously.

Anyway I learned of this site from the site alternatives listing for black dahlia, but I'm also just floating around trying to find other sites to do stuff on and see if there's people with similar interests.

Hey there 👋
I'm Kai & been writing stories for over 20 years, some shared some solo~

I don't have a favorite genre, but I'm far more versed in urban or high fantasies and slice of life, but I've dabbled in Sci Fi and Time Pieces and am not afraid to try something new. However as a note, I strictly write MxM, and am not interested in romantic pairings outside of that. Only exception, of a sorts, is if it's a side-characters couple, and they're fade-to-black style with any intimate scenes. Doesn't matter to me what gender a character is if they're a side/there's nothing romantic involved.

I always do 3rd Person POV.
I'm also 30+, and would prefer those I write with be 25+, or 21+ minimum. No judgement to those younger, but I prefer to keep those sort of age gaps to being in-story.

And those newer to RP'ing, the one piece of I'd advice I'd solidly be comfortable giving anyone, across the board, is that communicating expectations is the key to creating an enjoyable story with another person. Be open, upfront, and don't be afraid to tell someone else if a story or idea isn't working for you - and don't take it personally if someone else says the same.

**I was recommended Mansion by Solaris- because Black Dahlia was just shut down, which was where we met.

Welcome! Welcome!

We are so happy to have you here and give you both a new home to write on! Good luck to you both, and may the spirits of the internet bring you the perfect writing partners!

Hi everyone! I've been RPing for over 16 years, and recently got the itch to start anew. My favorite genre is dark romance/thrillers, with elements of organized crime (more details in my profile "About" section). I prefer to write in the third person, and I like my RP partners to do the same. One tip I'd give to anyone starting an RP for the first time is to not shy away from detail, and read as many stories and novels as you can in the genre you prefer (learn the tropes, the pacing, etc.) to create a more immersive storytelling experience! I discovered this website through just a google search seeking RP forums that suit me—excited to write with you all!

Only quoting Sol because I like to be annoying, and honestly, I never know what to put in these things, so bear with me while I fumble through it!

I've been roleplaying for over a decade now, and my writing style tends to mirror whoever I'm writing with- anywhere from casual back-and-forths to those massive novella posts that take a few days to craft. That being said, my bread and butter is fantasy (high or low, I love it all), but I'm not opposed to modern settings or sci-fi if the plot hooks me. I've also got a weird soft spot for slice of life stuff when the mood strikes. Lot of words for what basically equates to "genre matters less to me than having a good story and a partner I click with".

I've written as both men and women over the years, and I'm comfortable with any pairing—MxF, FxF, MxM—whatever makes sense for the story. Of course, like many, I have my limits, and mine are that I stick to OCxOC. I unfortunately don't really vibe with writing canon characters (of course, exceptions can be made for both writing and roleplaying with canon characters), since in my eyes, I can't always write them in a way their creator would approve, but I'm absolutely down to play in fandom worlds with original characters. What really gets me excited, though? Building worlds from scratch with a partner. There's something special about creating something entirely new together.

Until recently, I spent years writing professionally (let's say I've had a hand in building a few worlds you might've explored), so I know my way around narrative and world-building. That also means I'm pretty rusty at applying it to RP specifically, but I'm excited to shake off the dust and get back into it. As for activity, I'll match your energy. Please keep in mind that if we're creating novella-length posts, I won't be able to pump them out multiple times a day—quality takes time!

Like a few others I've seen posting here, I'm a transplant from BlackDahlia and looking forward to writing with folks on this site!
