Kalin picks his up, looking at Derek. He slowly sits down and watches the other with a soft smile, "I can't tell if I should be nervous or excited."

 

[Firestarter]

Derek laughs and shakes his head, "I just want you happy." He takes a sip of his wine and smiles at Kalin.

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

Kalin peers into his glass, "Oh, I know. I know that very well. . ." He looks up at Derek again, "That still doesn't really tell me how I should feel right now." He laughs softly.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek smiles and holds his hand out for Kalin to take, "I promise that the only thing you should feel right now is joy and love."

"I mean, I always feel that when I'm around you. But I mean my. . . Tirchiary feeling."

 

[Firestarter]

Derek chuckles and shakes his head, "You're not going to eat until you figure it all out, are you?"

Kalin pauses, "If. . . You want me to eat before you explain everything, I will, babe."

 

[Firestarter]

Derek smiles and shakes his head, "it's entirely up to you baby. I don't want you to feel pressured to eat."

"Welllll. . . These is thisac an cheese just begging me to eat it." He giggles.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek chuckles and smiles wider, "Go ahead and eat baby."

Kwlin squeals and digs into the food, quickly eating it. "Mmm. . . Tastes better every time. . ."

 

[Firestarter]

"You're too cute." Derek says softly before digging into his own plate.

His heart racas as he thinks up everything he needs to say once he and Kalin finish eating.

Kalin smiles at Derek, "Yeah? Have I told you how handsome you are today?" He stabs a stray noodle.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek blushes just the tiniest bit and rubs the back of his neck, "I'm glad I could look this handsome for you."

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

"You look handsome no matter what. Whether you have just woken up or came home from a long fay at work." He eats the salad, dumping lots of ranch onto it.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek smiles and looks up at Kalin, "You are the most beautiful person I have ever seen, Kalin. Every morning when I wake up and see your sleeping face, I just want to curl up with you again and forget about the world."

Kalin blushes, "Really? And yet you get up and do your workout every morning?"

 

[Firestarter]

Derek laughs nervously, "I...gotta make sure I still look good for you. I don't want to turn into one of those flabby guys who can't satisfy or even turn on the on they love."

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

Kalin laughs, "You don't need to worry about that babe. How many times have I told you, it's not just about the sex? It hasn't been for a long time."

 

[Firestarter]

Derek smiles and take another swig of his wine, trying to calm his nerves, "Are you still hungry baby? I want to make sure you are well fed."

Kalin shakes his head, "I think I'm full. You seem to know just how much I want of each serving. You never give me too much or too little."

 

[Firestarter]

Derek chuckles and slowly stands from his chair, "I'm glad I can get that right about you." He holds out his hand for Kalin to take while keeping his other hand in his pocket, "Let's just a small walk along the waters edge."

Kalin smiles and pulls Derek close, walkib towards the water. Once he reaches the water he grins and then kicks a splash at Derek's feet.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek chuckles and kicks a lottle bit of water back at Kalin before looking into his eyes, "I don't know what I would do without you in my life."

Kalin squeals and jumps back slightly. He looks at Derek and smirks, "Probably be depressed or some shit- and lonely."

 

[Firestarter]

Derek laughs and nods, "Yeah...I definitely would be."

He smiles at Kalin again before taking a deep breath, "Kalin...I have something I need to say."

A look of anxiety flashes across his face and he clears his throat, "Yeah?"

 

[Firestarter]

Derek gently takes Kalin's hands, rubbing the back of them with his thumbs, "Kalin, these past two years have been the absolute best of my life. I...I can't imagine a day in my life without you. Your smile, your laugh, even the way you leave small messes around the house are all things I can't stop from loving." Derek's voice shakes just a little as he reaches one hand into his pocket and pulls something out, keeping it hidden in his fist.

"I want to spend every day with you. I want to give you the world, Kalin. I don't care what I have to do or how much I have to suffer, so long as you are smiling, well fed, safe, and warm at the end of every day, that's all I need."

Derek slowly lowers himself down on to one knee and opens the small black box in his hand, revealing a gorgeous 4 carot marquie cut diamond with emerald stones on either side to match Kalin's eyes, forming small flowers, "Kalin Rorena...will you make me the happiest man alive and marry me?"

Kalin watches Derek, his eyes going wide and glittering slightly. His lips part lightly and he grips Derek's hands back.

He blinks and then stares down at the ring, "I-" He blinks, shocked as he stares dumbly at him.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek tries to remain calm but fear fills his heart. Tears start to well up in his eyes thinking Kalin is going to reject him.
