Kalin nods, "Yeah. Just don't have anyone clean up after me unless it's you." He makes a face.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek laughs and shakes his head, "Don't worry, Ill make sure that the staff don't organize your belongings."

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

Kalin glares playfully at him, "Derek. Don't be mean."

 

[Firestarter]

Derek chuckles and boops Kalin's nose, "I'm just saying their version of organizing and yours is completely different."

Kalin huffs, pouting at Derek.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek kisses Kalin's cheek as the car pulls up in front of the restaurant. He opens the door and climbs out while holding out his hand for Kalin to take, "Come on, lets get you that Mac and Cheese."

Kalin squeaks and takes Derek's had, smiling brightly.

 

[Firestarter]

After they walk into the restaurant and at sat at Derek's usual table, he looks up at Kalin and smiles, "I still remember the first time I brought you here. You were so stubborn."

Kalin grumbles, "Forcing me to eat Mac and cheese."

 

[Firestarter]

"I didn't force it, I just ordered it and then you ate it. Not my fault you ended up liking it so much." Derek laughs

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

"You spent money. How could I not eat? I'm not gonna waste money like that."

 

[Firestarter]

Derek smiles and shakes his head, "Were you really going to deny eating with me that day?"

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

Kalin looks confused and the shakes his head.

 

[Firestarter]

"Good." As the waitress stops by, Derek orders his usual drink and entree before looking at Kalin to see if he will order anything new.

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

Kalin thinks for a moment and then shrugs, "I'll try what he's having. . . With sweet tea. Need something to keep myself sweet when dealing with this guy all day." He grins at the waitress, laughing softly.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek drums his fingers on the table with a wicked grin as the waitress giggles and walks away, "I like being able to have our relationship in the open, no more hiding what we really want to say or do."

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

Kalin snorts softly, "I bet you the staff here knew the whole time. The fact that we came here like clock work every Tuesday just me and you and never once mentioned work?" He snickers.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek chuckles and nods, "Trust me, they knew. I just know the owner, so I made sure he didn't let his staff say anything about it."

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

Kalin laughs softly, "You're a control freak." He Snickers

 

[Firestarter]

"I just wanted to protect you. Remember, my father was still very much involved with everything back then." Derek reaches out with one hand to hold Kalin's.

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

Kalin nods, "I know." He brushes his thumb over Derek's hand, humming softly.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek smiles and leans forward while bringing Kalin's hand to his lips. He presses a soft kiss to the back of Kalin's hand and smiles, "I wish I had done things differently. I wish I had taken you out and asked you out properly."

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

Kalin laughs, "I was just the cute assistant who wouldn't admit to being attracted to his boss. You wouldn't have asked me out."

 

[Firestarter]

Derek chuckles and shrugs, "Maybe you're right. I was so nervous and thought that you didn't like me."

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

Kalin giggles softly and flicked Derek's nose playfully, "Oh, Mr. Big, Dominant and Confident was nervous?"

 

[Firestarter]

Derek playfully glares at Kalin before laughing a little, "Yeah. You see, when I hired you, I had already found you very attractive and when you moved up the ranks to be my assistant, I started to focus even more on working out. I wanted to impress you, but I thought you didn't notice me."

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

Kalin laughs, "Well, it worked. You certainly gained my attention. It was almost impossible for me to stop staring. Especially when you wore your suits."

 

[Firestarter]

Derek chuckles and looks down, "Do you have any idea how hard it was to not stumble over my words every time I had to say something to you? I would take extra time to calm myself down in my office before walking out to you."

Kaling snickers, "Really? Damn."

 

[Firestarter]

Derek blushes and scratches the back of his head, "Im sure that you thought I was a complete ass at first."
