Kalin bites his lip, "You pick."

 

[Firestarter]

Derek tilts his head slightly and thinks for a moment. "How about I have a bookshelf built into one of the walls that way we don't have to worry about it falling if our little one wants to try climbing up it?"

Kalin nods, "Yeah- rich people stuff-"

 

[Firestarter]

Derek rolls his eyes and pinches Kalin's cheek, "I just want it to be safe for our children."

"I know, I know. But safe in my home growing up was some duck tape and a million prayers." Kalin smirks

 

[Firestarter]

Derek gulps softly and takes a deep breath, "Please...let me at least make the bookshelf in the wall."

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

"Yes,yes, I'm agreeing with you. Duck tape is not the best option." He looks up at Derek, smiling softly, "I love you idea."

 

[Firestarter]

Derek sighs in relief and smiles, "Thank you baby. Do you think your dad would like to help me build it? I was thinking we could make it a family project instead of hiring people."

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

"He would love that." Kalin smikes brightly.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek smiles and nods, "I wonder how your family is going to react to the news of us wanting children."

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

Kalin think for a moment, "Mama will be thrilled."

 

[Firestarter]

"Javi is probably going to make some kind of joke at first." Derek laughs.

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

Kalin makes a face, "He's an ass, it's fine."

 

[Firestarter]

Derek chuckles and pulls Kalin close as they continue walking around. "While we are here, is there anything you've been wanting for the house in general? A new couch, bedframe, dining table?"

Kalin shakes his head, "I don't like change, you know that." He grumbles.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek shrugs his shoulders and smiles, "Is that why you don't like me in anything other than my work clothes? Because you go used to seeing me act like a big CEO?"

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

"Probably." Kalin shrugs, leaning against him, "I've also always had a think for hot men in nice clothes."

 

[Firestarter]

Derek glances down at Kalin with a raised eyebrow, "Men? I thought you only had eyes for me."

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

"I mean, I do. Now, anyways. But you know, I did exist for 23 years before meeting you."

 

[Firestarter]

Derek chuckles and nods, "I know, I'm just teasing." Derek leads them to the check out counter and starts to place the order for the furniture they picked out when the sound of a paparazzi camera grabs his attention. "Fuck...."

Kalin squeaks and hides behind Derek.

(I'ma say Kalin HATES cameras- cause drama)

 

[Firestarter]

Derek grinds his teeth and quickly finishes up the furniture order before pulling Kalin close, leading them quickly out of the store. "Fucking vultures!"

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

Kalin nuzzles his face I to Derek's side, moving with him. "Mean people. . ."

 

[Firestarter]

"It's okay baby, we're almost to the car." Derek quickens their pace before finally opening the door for Kalin and ushering him inside. Before Derek can climb inside the car, multiple reporters and paparazzi bombard him.

"Mr. Gateman! Mr. Gateman! Why were you looking at cribs?!"

"Is there a baby on the way? Are you using a surrogate?!"

Kalin presses back against the seat, eyes wide as he stares at Derek

 

[Firestarter]

Derek takes a deep breath in an attempt to calm himself while closing the door to protect Kalin, "I have no comment on anything you are all asking me. The only thing I would like to say is that I do not appreciate being followed in such a manner and will be filing for a restraining order against your companies if this happens again." With that said, Derek quickly climbs into the car and motions for the driver to speed off. "Are you okay baby?" He asks as he turns to Kalin.

Kalin nods, hiding his face in Derek's shoulder.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek frowns and wraps his arms tightly around Kalin, "I'm so sorry baby. If I had known someone would be following us, I never would've gone out."

Kalin blinks and shakes his head, "No, it's fine."

 

[Firestarter]

"Would you like to go home or do you want to go out for some lunch?" Derek says with a small smile, hoping to bring back to fun vibe.
