Kalin tilts his head slightly, "Trenton told me you found him." He wrinkles his nose slightly, confused.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek nods softly, "I found him...under my father's boot....Trenton was only 16 and was trying to defend his mother after father threatened to toss her out just for wearing a skirt that ended above her knees instead of below her knees. I couldn't stand the sight of what he was doing, but I didn't have much power of my own so....I told him to make Trenton my security guard in training."

Kalin hums slightly, "Okay." He leans into Derek, closing his eyes. He yawns slightly, "Is that all?"

 

[Firestarter]

Derek sighs and shakes his head. "If only..." Holding his head in his hands, Derek let's out a heavy breath. "Kalin, if i don't figure something out soon, they will sell his little sister on the black market..."

Kalin frowns, pulling away, "What? Why?" He folds forward, blinking at Derek.

 

[Firestarter]

"Because he stood up to them today to protect you. My father was going to hurt you and Trenton knew it."

Kalin stiffens, going silent. He stares at his hands, fidgeting.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek frowns and wraps an arm around Kalin, pulling him close. "Please forgive me for not telling you. I wanted to protect you from that side of my life and hopefully leave it in the past..."

Kalin shakes his head, "Not your fault. . ." He mumbles.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek sighs and pulls back, cupping Kalin's cheek with one hand. "Please tell me you aren't blaming yourself for anything."

Kalin looks away, silent.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek frowns and turns Kalin's face towards him again. "Kalin..."

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

"Yeah?" He looks at Derek.

 

[Firestarter]

"None of this is your fault. Trenton knew what he was doing and is still happy that he defended you." Derek gently rubs his thumb across Kalin's cheek, staring into his eyes. "If you really do feel bad, just go talk to Trenton. I know he will tell you the same thing I am."

Kalin sighs and crawls into Derek's lap, laying his head on the other's chest. "Mmph."

 

[Firestarter]

Derek frowns and wraps his arms around Kalin tightly. "It's going to be okay...I have my best men working on fixing everything right now."

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

Kalin lets out a little murp sound as he looks up at Derek, "Is. . . There something I can help with?" He runs his hand over Derek's chest, smoothing his fingers over his pectorals.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek holds Kalin close, caressing the back of the other's head. "Just help keep Trenton's mind off of everything."

Kalin huffs, "That's not what I meant. I meant, is they anything I can do to help you destress." He wrinkles his nose at Derek

 

[Firestarter]

Derek chuckles and shakes his head, "Just being able to hold you and know that you're safe is helping.....and seeing those cute faces you always make."

Kalin blinds, "I don't make faces!" He pushes his hand into Derek's face.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek laughs and falls back into the bed, flopping his arms above his head. "Oh no, taken out by my little minx." He makes a fake dying sound and closes his eyes, sticking his tongue out like a dead animal.

Kalin squeaks and giggles, "I can throw out the proton shakes!!" He good of the bed, snickering m

Derek shoots up, "Wait, What?!" He reaches out and quickly pulls Kalin close, "Don't you even think about it, or no more mac and cheese."

Kalin laughs, "I knew he wasn't dead!" He snuggles into Derek, grinning like a fiend at the other

 

[Firestarter]

Derek narrows his eyes before playfully nuzzling his face into Kalin's neck, letting his 5 o'clock shadow graze against the other's skin.

Kalin shivers, reaching up and gently scratching Derek's scalp.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek groans and wraps his arms tightly and Kalin's waist. "Dear god...."

Kalin giggles, "Pull the scruff away!" He squeals.

Derek laughs and growls playfully, nuzzling his face into Kalin's neck even more. "Never!"
