The day was soon turning to twilight as Garcia awoke from his long slumber. How long had it been since he had a decent rest he wondered as he sat up from his large and empty bed. He looked around his room, empty and cold as usual. he soon got up and began to dress himself for the night. a white suit with a black tie would be what he would wear as he took his cane and began to make his way outside to the town. Garcia had been the lord of this town for so long he stopped counting. he soon made his way to the local church and stood in front of its fence off garden and admire the flowers blooming in the small garden.

As he admired the garden, a nun came out to tend to it, her hair as red as the blood within her mortal veins, and her dress was a bit shorter than a usual nun’s. Nevertheless she tended dutifully, not making notice of the man standing there as she began to hum a soft tune, one that was similar to moonlight sonata.

Garcia turned his attention to the young crimsoned hair woman and proceeded to walk closer to the gate. "i see you take care of the garden now?" he asked in a soft but gruff voice. "you also seem quite new here to the church" he said looking at her outfit admiring the sleeves and necklace.

Adeline was startled to say the least when Garcia spoke, waking her from her trance. She looked over at the man and then back to the flowers she was tending to. "Ah..well, yes," she spoke in reply to both of his observations. "I'm only supposed to be here for a few weeks, until I find a permanent place to settle with one of the lords here," as was custom. The lords wanted salvation, what better way to do that than to hire nuns to pray for their sins...but sometimes, the nuns would have to sin themselves, unwillingly so. At least, she had heard rumors from the older women in the church, but since she was only shy of her 20th birthday, she knew it wouldn't be proper of her to ask.

Garcia raised his head when she mentioned lords. "then it is fortunate that we meet today that we meet today" he said as he took off his hand to hold to his chest. "my name is Garcia...i am the current lord of this land." he said flashing a soft smile and gave a slight bow. "if you have time we can discuss your living arrangements" he said as he placed his hat back on and placed his cane in front of him.

Adeline looked to his face as he mentioned about being the lord of the land, and her cheeks stained red a little from embarrassment. "Oh- I am terribly sorry to be so underdressed," she began to apologize. "They haven't given me proper garments yet.." she trailed off as he mentioned about her living arrangements with him. "Right, living arrangements.." she began and heard her name being called from one of the elders. "Adeline!" a voice could be heard. "You best be getting inside! You are well aware of rumors of a vampire lurking these streets at night, and we do not want any more blood to be shed!"

With that being said, Adeline made a face and gave a soft sigh. She looked to Garcia. "I'm sorry, I must go...but if you want to discuss things further, perhaps you can come inside the church and we can converse there?" she suggested, smoothing down her dress with her delicate hands.

Garcia looked towards the church and began to shake his head. "no that will not be necessary i prefer our talks be private..." he said adjusting his cane a bit. "can you let the sisters know that Garcia is here to escort you to my home to discuss living arrangements." he said as he smiled at her. "ill be waiting here for a reply" he said holding onto his cane with both hands.

Adeline looked over her shoulder towards the convent, and then back at the lord. She then gave a small nod and excused herself for the moment and went to let the sisters know that Lord Garcia was here. Garcia would be able to hear hushed murmurings, and scowls of disapproval at the lord's methods, but they weren't exactly there to argue. The lord kept these grounds safe from the supposed 'vampire' and that's all they could really be thankful for.

Adeline came back out after a few minutes, and she looked to Garcia's face. "I am ready to leave whenever you are, as I do not have anything to bring with me." She said, knowing she had to give up everything she had owned before coming to the convent.

"very well then lets be on our way" he said as he began to make the journey back home. As they were walking the sun began to set in the distance, he looked towards Adeline and smiled. "what made you join the sisters young Adaline?" he said now walking through the town that was beginning to make preparations for the night. "not alot of holy women or men come to my lands often...i was curious on why this town?" he asked with look of interest as the towns folk would whisper in hushed voices as the walked.

Adaline walked beside him, and ignored the whispers from the townsfolk. At his question she looked down at her hands and responded with, "I am my father's only daughter- and he believed if I was to join, I could bring him salvation and forgiveness in this time of plague and sickness.." she lets the lord know, but of what sins could her father possibly want to repent?

"hmmm sending you off with nothing to your name...and for a mistake someone else made...you poor girl" he said as his look went to a more sorrowful look. After about 20 minutes they arrived at his estate, he would open the doors as the room that was already lit. he walked her to his living room where he would sit on a couch. "stand across from" he said as he began to set his cane and hat down on the small table infront of the couch. "soo tell me more about yourself Adaline...what did you do before you came here?" he said as he looked up to the young woman with a warm smile on his face.

 

[FaeWhisperer]

She walked into the large room and looked around in awe, before moving in front of the lord like asked. "What did I do.." she echoed and looked at his warm, inviting face. "Not much, my lord, I was merely there to tend to my father, like a daughter is supposed to." she spoke. Perhaps she wasn't letting on as much as he hoped, but the true way to know was to look through her memories by drinking from the life force she had running beneath that pretty necklace on her neck.

Garcia nodded his head at her comment. "did you father give you that necklace...it looks well made..." he said looking up at her. "or was it offered by the sisters..." he said as he leaned forward. his eyes wandered to the young ladies form, Garcia slowly licked his lips as he patted the table. "may i see it?" he asked looking up at her

She touched the necklace with her hand as he mentioned it and she swallowed slowly at his comment. “It was my mother’s,” She tells him next, going over to him as he had asked. She removed the necklace and laid it on the table. That necklace was the one thing that was stopping his compulsion- vervain- a deadly herb used against vampires like wolfsbane. But she didn’t know that. If he touched it, his skin would burn, like it would have in the sun. But he could definitely scent it off the necklace now.

Garcia nodded his head. "she must of been a faithful woman..." he said as he stood up and began to slowly walk behind her. he placed his hands on her shoulders and began to massage them softly. "Adaline...what do the people of my land say about me...what do the sister say when they told you, you needed to talk with me for finding a home" he whispered in her ear still softly massaging her shoulders.

She tensed slightly when he touched her, but surprisingly relaxed as he began to gently rub her shoulders. At his question she answered. “They don’t know much of you my lord, only that you protect the townsfolk, and that any woman should be honored to work by your side-“ she trailed off, closing her eyes. Her pumping blood underneath those veins of hers..enticing to say the least. “But they do frown upon you not entering the church and coming on Sunday mornings…”

Garcia nodded his head at what she was saying. "well they must forgive me...i am old and can be very forgetful..." he said as he stopped his hand movements.
