Kalin hops up, taking Derek's arm. "Babes, it's fine. Come on." He pulls on Derek's arm, shivering slightly.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek gently pats Kalin's hands, wanting to comfort him, "Don't worry, everything is going to be fine." He turns to look at Roger again, a dark expression covering his face. "Why are you here? You never attend these events."

"Is that anyway to speak to your uncle? The man who really raised you?" Roger says as he stand up from the table and stuffs one hand into his pocket.

Kalin makes a face, "Ew-" His nose wrinkles, and he looks at Derek, "I think he was trying to be creepy-" He presses into Derek's side.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek closes his eyes and takes a very deep breath, letting it out slowly as to maintain his composure. "You might be my uncle, but you have been warned to never come near me again after what you did." He pulls Kalin closer, wrapping a protective arm over Kalin's shoulder as his muscles flex.

"Maybe you shouldn't leave such a perfect gem alone. Anyone in their right mind would want to take him from you." Roger smiles, standing just as dominantly as Derek without an ounce of fear in him.

Kalin scowls, "He didn't leave me alone, I gae him some space. Fuck off and mind your own business!"

 

[Firestarter]

Derek growls lowly and steps closer to Roger, "Leave....my....company....Now"

"Fine," Roger shrugs, "if that's how you want to speak to the man who really raised you, then so be it." He winks at Kalin before slowly walking away while Derek's body tenses and starts to tremble with anger.

Kalin rubs Derek's lower back, making a soft, soothing sound. "it's okay, babes."

 

[Firestarter]

Still remaining tense, Derek lets out a heavy breath, "Let's go home. I've been here long enough..." He starts walking away, gently pulling Kalin with him as he leads them towards the exit.

Kalin digs his heels in, "Babe. . ."

 

[Firestarter]

Derek sighs and turns to face Kalin, pain and remorse evident in his eyes, "Yes?"

Kalin sighs, "You sure? We only got here ten minutes ago.x

 

[Firestarter]

Derek looks out over the crowd, knowing all hell might break loose in the tabloids if he leaves now, knowing that Roger definitely spoke with at least 3 reporters outside, "Let's just...go to my office for a minute.... I need to get away from everyone."

Kalin smiles and nods, taking his hand and pulling him away, "It's okay, babe." He murmurs

 

[Firestarter]

As they get to his office, Derek closes the door and hangs his head, keeping his back to Kalin for just a moment as he sighs.

Kalin walks up behind him, running his hands up his back, "Babe. . ."

 

[Firestarter]

Derek's shoulders shake a little and the soft sound of him crying is all that can be heard in his office. "Why.....why the fuck did he have to come here?"

Kalin bites his lip and presses close to Derek, "I- dunno? Just hold you little minx and I'll somehow make it all better." He pulls Derek's arms around him, nuzzling into his chest.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek slowly turns and wraps both arms tightly around Kalin, holding him as if Kalin would disappear or run away if he let go. "Did he do anything to you?"

"Seemed like he wanted me to sit on his lap or something. Gross old guy stuff." He makes a face. "Not that I would, you are much better '

 

[Firestarter]

Derek sighs softly, his breath coming out shaky as he squeezes Kalin even tighter. "He didn't touch you did he? Your drink was never left where he could reach it right?"

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

Kalin blinks slowly, "Uhhhh-"

 

[Firestarter]

Derek pulls back swiftly and cups Kalin's face firmly, "Tell me you didn't drink anything that he might have given you or left your drink alone with him at any point before taking another sip."

Kalin bites his lip, "I- Don't know. . ." He mumbles.

 

[Firestarter]

Derek's eyes fill with panic and leans closer to Kalin, staring into his eyes for any signs of pupil dilation or foggy vision, "Do you feel alright? You don't feel woozy or disoriented right?"

Kalin blinks, "Derek--"

 

[Firestarter]

Derek swallows hard and pulls back just a touch, "I-I'm sorry..."

Kalin leans into him, "Why. . ."

 

[Firestarter]

Derek breathes slowly from his mouth, letting his shoulder slump at the same time, "Why am I panicking?"

 

[RhysTheFirebird]

"Uh, cause you think he put something in my drink?" Kalin tilts his head

 

[Firestarter]

Derek closes his eyes for a moment, trying to gather his thoughts before taking a step back from Kalin, "He's done some things that should've gotten him in prison for life...."
