Prince of the Seas, King of my Heart (Brit?)

The mermaid shaped gown shown beautifully in the light of the candles, and she smiled as he approached. “Mm, you’re not wearing a mask,” she teased as he took her hand, and she bowed to him before the music began to start.

He nodded "Ah, I must have forgotten... Or perhaps, my face is the real mask" He joked, bowing back to her, and leading her into a dance as the music began, his light movements almost locking her into her movements, compensating for her poor dancing.

She danced with him, simply not realizing she wasn’t messing up this time. “Your face being the real mask?” She echoed, looking at his handsome features. “Mm, somehow I don’t believe you..” she pursed her rosy pink lips.

"Hmm. Well, perhaps." He didn't really answer, continuing the dance, focusing on her eyes, even as the dance became more complicated, their lips coming mere centimetres apart as they moved.

Her heartbeat was so loud she was sure he would be able to hear it. When the song came to an end, they ended up close like that again, and she blinked- panting softly from recovering from the dance. “Zorren I-“ her words were cut off as the next song required them to continue to switch partners, as it was a group one.

Zorren watched her closely as the dance started, keeping an eye on her as they constantly swapped partners, before they once again were together for the third dance "What were you saying, Princess?"

“Well, I was going to mention that perhaps later tonight we could..” she began, the song was slow and very personal, but she didn’t quite catch the queues.

Lucky for her, Zorren was fully aware of the dance and lead her through it "We could?" He questioned as they danced, waiting for her answer.

“Perhaps take a stroll by the shore?” She wondered why she wanted to, perhaps she just wanted a few more moments alone with him…but why did he have her heart beating like this? Sure she had always found him attractive but now..

"Perhaps..." He murmured uncertainly, even as the dance developed further, their movements pushing and pulling like the ocean tide, her body moving better than it ever had before as they again finished so close together...

Her eyes fell on his lips, and she hesitated, wanting nothing more than to close that distance but..the song ended, and the partners were dismissing to mingle upon the crowd. While the band kicked up an interlude between dances.

Zorren took her a short distance, into a small pocket of calm where they could speak, where they would go unobserved so she could do as she wanted.

Yet Avery hesitated again, talking and chatting with him about different topics- if father would go out on his ship again, and another where it quickly turned into conspiracies but Zorren wouldn’t be able to help to see how beautiful she looked when she talked about what interested her.

Zorrens eyes traced her lips as she spoke, but he listened softly to her words, offering his own opinions before he moved a little closer, dropping his voice "Avery... Would you like to leave a little... early?"

Avery blushed softly but nodded slowly, “I’m alright with that, I’d rather change into something more comfortable anyways,” she mentioned to him next.

Soon they had slipped away from the ball, and were by her room, Zorren waiting outside for her to change in privacy.

“Zorren! I need your help, I can’t get out- mmph!” She huffed and struggled with the damn laces, sighing softly and waiting for his assistance.

Zorren sighed, shaking his head as he walked in, immediately starting to undo the laces so she could remove the dress.

As he started to undo the laces, her exposed back would be towards him and he would be able to see how soft her skin actually looked. She held the dress up to her bosom and she thanked him for helping, going behind a dressing screen next to remove the dress fully. He would be able to see her silhouette though..

He watched her head behind the screen and had to stifle the slight intake of breath as he saw her silhouette, noting the way her body curved in just the right ways, and in his mind he added her mermaid tail, which only made the sudden stiffness in his lower body worse.

She came out in a simple dress, one that was light enough that if it possibly became wet, it wouldn’t weigh her down. She smiled softly to him and then asked, “Shall we head down to the beach now?” She had no idea what he was fighting against at the moment.

He nodded to her words, even as he could already see what would happen. If she fell into the water... He had to be careful that she didn't slip in the dark.

Once at the shore, they strolled along the beach and she couldn’t help but stoop down, touching the water with her hand. The bioluminescence shone and she gasped softly at how beautiful it was. She was unaware of scales forming on her hand however..

He gently pulled her back up before she could notice, with a soft "Tch" sound. He looked at the water, frowning a little "Lets not get any closer, Princess... Last thing we need is you falling in."

“But it’s just the shore, the deeper water is out there,” she spoke and pointed to where the sea really started past the sand bank and deeper water was darker in color. She gave a soft front and pulled her arm away from him. “Unlike you, I do know how to swim, bodies float you know,” she reminded Zorren.

He watched her pull away and blinked "Princess wait-!" He was cut off as the rock under her feet snapped, dropping her into the water "Oh shit..."

Avery gave a scream of surprise, plunging into the warm water. As she sank, she opened her eyes, surprise that she could…see clearly? And she gave a gasp, water filling her mouth but she…she touched her neck with her hand. Gills…?!

Her legs felt odd, and heavier, and she glanced down to see a tail! What in the name of the goddess was she seeing!?

He dove in after her, holding her close as she panicked "Shh, Shh... It's okay, it's okay. Just breath." He instructed, even as she'd see his gills and tail, as well as his eyes taking on an odd glow.

She continued to panic but calmed once she felt Zorren near- and she gasped as she saw how he looked. “Liar! You so know how to swim!” And she noticed the glow of his eyes and…how muscular his chest was. The dress she wore covered up her curves nicely and the scales forming around her body curved and traced her chest.

He looked at her, tilting his head "Seriously? That's what your questioning here..." He sighed, before holding her close "Still... I must say, you look so much more beautiful under the waters..."
