All these words and things melded into Derek’s mind and some of them didn’t make sense. Surely he didn’t like Marie enough yet to be a mated pair with her for eternity, as some demons saw it.

Once at the door, Derek would be able to hear the conversation. “Is everything to your liking?” The servant asked and then the voice of Marie would respond. “Yes, I appreciate everything,” and then the servant would informally address Marie. “Marie, you know, the blood moon is soon- it’s supposed to happen on the night of the silvered moon-“ it sounded more of a warning.

Marie sighed. “I know, this whole magical bullshit has gotten to me,” she confessed to what seemed to Derek, like a friend of sorts. “I just don’t understand, never has there ever been an occurrence like this..”

Derek leaned slightly closer to the door as he listened to them talking. Friends it seemed...but something was up? He glanced through the hallway but nobody else was around...a bit of eavesdropping was okay?

“Does your brother know about the blood moon happening with the silver moon?” She asked Lily, and Lily paused a moment before replying.

“Yes.” Lily said simply, motioning to Marie’s neck. “I know you don’t want to, but if you and him bond…it’ll be the best thing for Hell..” Lily mentioned and Derek would hear Marie give a sigh.

“And for my father. I know…Kaden- he- he mentioned about him being in danger and that we had to form an alliance..” Derek would be able to hear how worried she was about her family.

“But why this occurrence?” Marie asked Lily next and Lily gave a shrug.

“My thoughts would turn to the fact that both of your sides will be equal during this time making you one being entirely.” Lily explained further, seemingly flipping through a book.

Knowing this, Derek would figure out a few things. It wasn’t just Marie’s angel blood Kaden seemed after, but Marie as a whole, as it stood a hybrid species probably had more power together than the separate beings.

Derek shifted back, this was so weird..was Kaden really trying to do something with Marie...play some kind of game to trick her. The thought came but it made him cringe. After all, what was he doing? He wanted her blood too to try to save himself.

The conversation muddled in Derek’s mind until Lily opened the door and came across him face to face. She seemed surprised that he was standing there and glanced over to Marie, and Marie motioned that he was okay to come in. Once excusing herself past Derek, he was left alone with Marie.

Derek looked over his shoulder as Lily passed him by, but then looked over to Marie, stepping into her room. "So...I got questions." He said as he sat down on her bed.

“Ask away,” she sighed and leaned back, obviously dressed since the last time he had seen her. She nibbled on a dessert that was on her tray, seemingly uninterested in the main course.

Marie blinked. “What?” She asked and touched her neck, not feeling anything. She took out her phone and turned on her camera, facing her. She looked for what he mentioned, but seemingly didn’t see anything. “What are you seeing?” She asked next, unaware that only Derek would be able to see her mark, unaware that he could see it because he was a challenging male to Kade.

She frowned more, “if there’s a bite mark..I surely should’ve known about it..” so whatever it was, perhaps that’s what was draining her magical abilities?
