Twisted Desires (Knight)

“My fucking phone,” she shook her head and put her head in her hands, “I’m stumped,” she nearly cried out. Composing herself, she gave a soft sight, looking up and over at him. “I didn’t mean to startle you,” she said next, hoping he wouldn’t be mad at her.

"Its a phone, come on, don't get freaked." He said coming closer to her, reaching out and hugging her. "It's gonna be okay, don't go crazy over it, we'll fund some shit out" he said nodding

Marie gave a soft huff, leaning into his embrace. “Yeah I’m sure we will,” she murmured and leaned her head up to look at his face.

Derek curled his arm around her closer, looking down at her, his eyes scanning her face almost rapidly...then again, he was jumped up now. He rested his forehead against hers, rubbing her back gently.

Marie felt his forehead next to hers, feeling his hand on her back. It was then, she moved her head ever so slightly, letting her lips fall onto his. The kiss would be grounding to both of them- bringing their thoughts to the interaction between them.

As she sealed them together with a kiss, Derek seemed to steady out again, pulling back a little as he was grounded. He touched his side, wincing a little at the feeling he had creeping back, he cringed slightly. "Its...okay" He said almost to himself rather than her.

She noticed and bit her lip slightly. “How bad does it hurt?” She asked, knowing if he hadn’t met her he wouldn’t have been in this position. She began to blame herself but there was really nothing she could do, well…she know she had to find the one who could help but also knew that would take a bit.

(Shall we time skip to them finding udo or…?)

(XD if you'd prefer it, sounds like you'd like to)

"I'll be okay" He said shaking his head at her question, giving a half smile to her despite how much the wound felt like it was burning through him will a blowtorch.

(Well we don’t have to, I was just suggesting it XD)

Marie didn’t believe him, and she gave a small sigh. “I know my blood didn’t help-“ she shook her head, her hand glowing slightly. “My angel side is supposed to heal more than maim..” but then again what he was feeling was from the dagger that had been plunged into his side. Her blood was actually lessening the pain, although Derek wouldn’t know so.

Marie reached out with her hand, touching his side and the warm glow around her only soothed his pain, purifying what poison she could. It reduced to a dull ache, but she knew she would have to do this regularly until she found a proper solution to saving him, she was in no way at the same power level her mother was.

Once satisfied, she pulled her hand back and looked at him. “How…how do you feel?” She asked, the halo of light around her was marred with dark demon energy but it would only draw him in further than scare him away.

Derek felt the pain dulling down, sapping away from his side, lowering the splitting burn. "He relaxed a bit more, but didn't let go of his side. "Good.but...this won't last forever" he said shaking his head. "You...have to keep doing that, or give me more blood....and that will go haywire" he said as he was drawn closer to her by her halo.

Marie sighed. “I know it won’t last forever..” she gives it a thought. “If we find the person that will help…you may have to give up your mortal life to live” she warned him next but she figured he would do that anyways.

"You think I have a life like this?" He said raising a brow at her. "All I've been doing is surviving.. even now, I'm just trying not to run out the clock. Either I'm cursed or I'm poisoned...what really do I have to lose?"

She sat back a little at his words but knew he was right. He didn’t have anything to lose. She sighed softly and nodded to him. “Alright then. We can head out as soon as you’re ready,” she mentioned next, pushing her hair behind her ear.

"Then we need to go by tonight...do we need to get anything for the trip?" He said rubbing his side gently and leaning against the wall

“Well.” She chewed her lip lightly, “Besides food and drink for you- and money for places where we can stay…” she trailed off. “Plus we need to find the whereabouts of the map which will lead us to the one we seek..”

"Well what do we know about the map?" He asked as he ruffled his hair a bit. Money and food...well he'd have to make some less than wholesome moves but he could collect it in a pinch.

“What I do know about it is that it’s in two separate pieces on each side of the world,” she frowned, hating that fact. The borrowed time Derek was on…if it wasn’t for Marie he wouldn’t be like this. “If I could portal, this would be a lot easier,” she said and focused some of her energy in the middle of the room, her eyes narrowing as she tried to bend the atoms to her will.

Soon, a wormhole opened and it lead to where the first map would be waiting for them. But now to get their hands on it…

She paused, blinked and looked at her hands. Could this mean she could go back home now? “Well…that was…unexpected..” she hummed and looked to Derek. “Let’s go through it before it becomes any more unstable..” she reached a hand out for him to take, the air around them vibrating slightly.

Bending and pulling, ripping and folding the forces of matter, the air sized and burned as a black wobbling mass tore open in the room. The air smelled of ozone and it mad Derek's hair raise slightly as the magic charged the air from the release of raw energy. The destination was a vivid green jungle, the muggy humid air leaking into the room next. Derek stepped forward, taking a careful step forward and crossing that threshold between space itself.

Once they both were through, she looked around and took in a deep breath. “Well…this is certainly…not what I was picturing where the first piece of the map would be..” she wished she had a guide of sorts, but all she had to do now was rely on her memory, and even that was broken into pieces, probably for her own safety.

"The world changed in 2000 years, this probably wasn't always a jungle." Derek said as he looked around the green lush beauty, his hand reached up and cover his eyes a bit as they were under the glare of the sun through the canopy layers. "Who's to say that it even is still where it was left then?" He muttered to himself as Marie thought back. The scattered ideas, bits of knowledge and whispers. Her father never mentioned such things directly, but he had said he had agents on earth, demons that longed to be of mankind again, or were punished with it, stuffed into shells that they could not break free of and born again as a mortal. Perhaps one such being was what was out here, fulfilling its purpose.

Marie squinted in the sun’s light, and she cursed silently at her memories but the idea of the being popped into her mind- carefully drawn from her thoughts without her knowledge…and she touched the whip on the side of her belt and glanced to Derek.

The hair on the back of her neck stood up as she felt an odd sense of being watched and she motioned to Derek- “Do you feel that?” She asked, the same sickening feeling she had felt all those years ago, it was familiar but why she had a familiar sense about it she couldn’t exactly explain why. It was like everything was screaming at her to get out of the area, but she had to be here…for Derek’s sake.

"Feel what?" Derek said looking over as the sensation of being watched faded little by little. It didn't exactly help that she could be only imagining it...or some one was using magic to watch them. Her father? Their enemy? Kaden?

Marie shivered lightly as the feeling faded but she still couldn’t shake what she felt. It was as if she had tapped into Derek’s very being again and death had its tendrils in her soul once more. It definitely did not feel like her father or Kaden for that matter. Someone, or something more sinister who wanted to end her very bloodline. But as far as she knew it was only her and her father’s blood that someone would be after, unless it was her angel blood again.

Marie felt dizzy and lurched forward slightly, holding herself up against a tree. Of course, she had forgotten that when she went to save Derek earlier she had used the same blade on herself, and certainly even as immortal as she was—surely the demon blade had some effect on her.

Derek reached out to her, grabbing her arm gently to try to put her arm around him. "You shouldn't be teleworking if you can barely stand after" he said as he dragged her arm around his shoulder, and gripped her waist. "Are you alright?"

“It’s not that-“ she corrected him but leaned into his support, knowing very well he probably didn’t have the strength. “It’s..what I felt…like it- had death’s grip on me..” she glanced to his face, “What you’ve been feeling…I felt,” she tried to explain.

"What? That's not good." Derek said looking around them now. "We need to get moving then, we have until sun down to find a place to hunker down again. " He said starting to walk with her. "We're sitting ducks!'

She walked with him, trying to figure out where they could spend the night. She looked around, nowhere seemed like it would work but..eventually they came across a hollowed tree.

“Do..do you think this’ll work?” She asked him next.

"If we're lucky it won't be a monster that comes looking...it might work." Derek said looking at the large tree, the roots and trunk spread, and low to the ground , one would have to crawl to get in and out, but it atleast would be large enough for them to squeeze together with in and be sewhat comfortable. "It will have to" Derek said looking up the sky, the syn passing lower abd lower by the second.

She glanced up as well and gave a small sigh, “Let’s get in it then,” she spoke and they both squeezed inside.

It was spacious enough, and it appeared to have been used by someone recently.

Warm ashes in a fire pit had been laid there, and she glanced up, seeing the hole up top of the tree. Not enough for someone to get in but enough for smoke to be let out.

"Fire is recent..." Derek noted as he heald out a hand over the ashes, feeling the dying heat in them still. "Maybe a common camp?" He said as he put his bag ti yhe side. "Stay here...I can gather foor wood for it" he said
